I say it depends on the size. If it's the size of a nickel or bigger, it's going sooner rather than later.

Its actually pretty small.. but its two small ships right next to each other and get this.. they're not on the top side! The glass is smooth, apparently when the stone or whatever it was hit the car it must have hit the A pillar first and then the glass on the side vs straight on. I was baffled trying to figure out how the hell that happened..

Anyhow its about the size of a pea. The pic is up really close to get the detail in but the actual damage isn't large. Dunno.. we'll see. I'm actually a bit curious as to how this one will spread. I've never seen a windshield chipped on the side of the edge vs straight on. Most cars protect the edge of the glass too.. where ours just kinda sits out there unprotected.

At the risk (however slight) of derailing where this thread is going, am I the only one who gets giddy after detailing their car? It took me about 2 hours to wash, clay and wax, and then an additional 25 minutes of just running my hands over the paint, giggling to myself...

It may be a bit of a drive for you, but there's a little FT86 Club meet that's gonna crash a local Subie meet in VA Beach if you're interested.

Hehehe.. no, but I just dont have the time to do that anymore. Mine gets regular washes and vac's but It hasn't been waxed since I bought it.

One of these days I'll get it over to shine car shine and let them work their magic.
