So the BRZ has more PP than the GR86 when you put them both on SS tires…

I will say it took some effort to match my BRZ time at Tsukuba with the GR86 today. My guess is if I go back to the BRZ and really pull out all the stops I'll be a half second faster.

GR86 is a little more playful which makes it slightly harder to stay tidy when trying to go as fast as possible. I think that's really neat because that's what people say about the cars in real life.

It’s much better. Even being super sloppy in the Porsche cup race at the ring I smashed my previous time no warm up.

Spa is hands down my favorite track, I think I did 4 events yesterday of the races not included on the Menus. I almost always run into issues on turns 10, 11, and 12 because it feels like you can carry a lot more speed than what the turn allows you to.

With the new physics, I was able to win LeMans 30 min on the same set of RH tires through two period of heavy rain. Once the bar was almost to the 2/3 mark. Only time I went off was when I sort of 'tested' traction mid-corner with a little punch of the throttle. Takeaway is that getting caught out on slicks is not a guaranteed multi-spin affair now. You definitely have to nurse it back carefully but it's MUCH more manageable.

That said, I didn't put a ton of seat time in on gr.3 type cars but man, you're really glued to the road now with racing tires. Comfort and sport tires though, wow. I can see actually enjoying drifting now.

I have the opposite experience with the LM rain. Wet grip seems to be even less predictable now. I actually spun out 3 or 4 times, with one of those times being on IM tires. I rarely ever spun out unless it was in the upper third bar and on RH tires.

On a side note, I fell asleep on the straight before the first chicane. Woke up when the car went into the kitty litter. LMAO

I test out the new BRZ. Looks like GR86 & new BRZ upped their PP. GR86 used to be 508.xx w SS tires, but now 514.xx (iirc).

Test new stock BRZ, stock GR86 & GT86 (modded) w SS tires in Tsukuba 3 laps. This was the result came w. I get BRZ feels faster, but how I drive, I can drive fraction faster w GR86 instead of BRZ. Ignore the 4th~7th times. That was done before yesterday.

So in the end, I think it’s all up to everyone’s preference on car character.

In stock trim, I'm guessing the GR86 would be the better car for me.

How, just HOW is it an easy race? I did it twice yesterday and the best I could manage was 8th. I was in 2nd place before the 2nd lap was even over but JFC the deluge of water that would fall in my races. I know it's Spa, and "it rains there a lot" but seriously????? Every race I've done there in GT7 has had rain and lots of it. And regardless of what the radar says in both races (yesterday) it started raining the lap AFTER I pitted for new tires and fuel.

Complete bullsh*t I say.

What car are you 2 using? I'm in the Aston Martin V12 DBR9 GT1 with upgraded supercharger (good for 788hp). Running #4 on the fuel trim is good for 20 minutes before refueling. As soon as the rain comes I dial it back to #6.

(keep in mind I don't use traction control and have opponents difficulty set to hard)

I have't done any of the GR3/4 races at Spa yet that weren't part of the menus. So I'm keeping an eye on the thread for when I decide to start completing the special events. I think I did try at one point and used the MKIV Castrol Supra but it was too damn slow. Amazing grip and aero, but could not keep up with the rest of the pack in terms of top speed/acceleration. I also didn't tune it or try to add more parts to it.

I'm using the R34 GT500 with the medium turbos. Yeah, it rained super hard in my race too. But all of us were on slicks and yellow flags were being thrown up everywhere. I limped back to the pits, whereas a lot of the AI still tried going fast. This was the most varied race in terms of the strategies the AIs used (which worked against a lot of them).

I was planning on less fuel conservation for the first half of the race, so I was using fuel trim 3. Didn't know it was going to rain, so that caught me off guard. Switched over to 6 after it started raining. I stayed out on RH tires when it first started raining since I was still able to post decent lap times, but when those purple spots appeared on the radar, that's when the yellow flags came out. The purple started appearing after my second pit (the one where I went in for fresh RH tires and fuel).

I also don't use TC and have the difficulty set to hard. I didn't get into the top 3 for a while, but since it was an hour long race, I didn't let it get to me. I eventually got into first and built up my lead ending with I think 42 seconds over 2nd by the end.

Is the R34 GT500 AWD?

I was in the pouring rain on Full Wets, and the AI car in 2nd, that I full well knew was on IMs, freaking walked away from me (before I started spins lol). GTFO....
