IMHO the TPMS is useless because if I can drive as far as I do without a signal and not get a warning light I question anther or not it would give me any indication of a real problem fast enough.

On my Corolla they saved my ass a couple of times, IMO they are a good thing. but not worth paying extra for, which why I dont have them on the winter wheel set.

Just curious, what condition did they signal and how fast did it come on?

I'm glad the BRZ doesn't have tpms. I find it's a pain in the ass more than anything. Sure, It's good on a daily commuter car.

Yep. Had a 2009 STI before the BRZ. Test drove a 2009 Evo MR as well when I was shopping for the STI.

BRZ doesn't have tpms? Or is it just the non-Sport-tech?

What an odd thing to omit

Comment on it i'm almost 100% sure of switching. My 19 yo self can't justify paying 700$ a month for a car i'm not driving 5 months a year, sadly...

It is not on the Canadian models - mine is a sport-tech. Not mandatory in Canada. A few threads discuss it, owners manual mentions it might not be there. On the Subaru Canada web site, only the Tribeca mentions TPMS under safety features. It is a bit of a surprise as Subaru often highlights safety.
I swapped winter tires on the stock rims and got new rims and tires without TPMS the next spring. Have never had the light on and I wander thousands of km away from the stock tires.

Easy solution, drive it in the winter.

Ask @AznKirby, where I live is not where you want a lightweight RWD toy in the winter time. Interested in the S4 B9 now... We'll see

That is what I was going to say...

If you want to store a car over winter, accept the costs of doing so.
if you want to protect a car from winter, see above.
if you cannot accept the cost of a 2 car solution, drive what you have.

I dont see the point of getting rid of such a great car as the alternative to just driving it all year. slap some good snows on it and you will be fine.
for the most part, the only thing that will get you out of situations the FRS/BRZ cant handle is a 4x4 truck. these cars handle winter just as well as any small car out there, in many cases, better.

the way I see it, if the weather is so bad the FRS cant handle it, I should be staying home anyway!
