Public, media, academic and entertainment support for military action seems to change depending on which national political party is in power. Today, undeclared unilateral foreign wars are in vogue. That could change in a heartbeat after the next Federal election. Enjoy the well deserved recognition while you can.

this is what i did with my only wreck. Also if you go to a collision shop that is on the approved list from your insurance company, the shop is typically the adjuster. So if you get friendly with the shop, they'll typically let you swap your stock parts back on.

Don't forget to take the front & back emblems... You can make a bedroom's lights out of them.......

When I got back and was 'thanked', I didn't know how to respond since I wasn't in the US long enough to provide an adequate response. One day, I heard my friend say what @Tcoat said, and thought it made a lot more sense. Even today, it takes true admiration for the services to praise it.
Even though it's US, it's like this in Hawaii. They hate mainlanders (except visiting), hate military, especially hate Marines! We take their women folk too often and get into bar fights. The general mentality is "You flew here, we grew here!"

But if it wasn't for Military and college students and the travel industry that rock wouldn't be close to as developed as it is.

Since we changed the topic (not really a jack since OP is in on it) some people may have missed this!
Know it won't stop many from still saying "take this that or the other" but may help a little.

No, once your insurance considers it a "total lost" and thus you hand it over for the fat check, your insurance owns it. They do not however own the unfinished Starbucks you spilled under your seat.

It looks like the car may no longer be in your possession, but if the parts are flawless I'd be interested in the trunk mat and the front bumper cap. My 10 Series front bumper got scuffed and I'd really like to get a OEM painted replacement that's in perfect shape, so I don't have to deal with repainting a very difficult color to match.

@Bergen23, I don't think you meant to be offensive, but if you don't think someone who's served this great country doesn't deserve thanks, you just don't get it - enough said.

In Berg's defense he also served his great country! He has a different outlook on the subject is all. Believe me in Canada it can be an odd feeling to receive those thanks.

Nope not in my possession anymore, but thanks.

Well almost! But there is a big difference between Marine Corps and what you wrote!

Although, much better to be a service member in the US. In Canada you're likely to get paint thrown on you if you're out in uniform. I've actually seen this happen, the guy was in his DEU's too...
