I finally received everything I needed to install my Mishimoto performance radiator... also installed Mishimoto radiator hoses, Mishimoto induction hose, Mishimoto oil catch can, and an HKS drop-in filter. All Mishimoto parts fit without issue... very happy about that.
I also reinstalled a number of parts I had powder coated... some were powder coated anodized red... some were powder coated the anodized red base color which is basically chrome. Turned out pretty good. Mishimoto oil cooler is on tap for tomorrow as well as refilling the coolant. ![]() ![]()

Didn't get to finish my oil cooler install because my kit was missing the set screws that install into the sandwich plate... so I did what I could...
**I secured the oil cooler to the platform with 10mm hex bolts, washers, and lock nuts instead of the self tapping screws that came with kit. ![]() I had to file down the washers a bit on this side of the oil cooler bracket in order for them to fit. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm a freak when it comes to cleanliness! Especially in the engine bay! I'm building a show car so the engine bay has got to be off the chain!

Teach us your ways, Sensei. Some of us wash the car on Friday only to have it a mess by Sunday...

My 86 is new and is not a daily driver but that really doesn't matter... lol My 2004 Nissan 350Z was a daily driven show car and the engine bay was the same. These are the things I do: - If I'm driving it daily, I'm wiping my engine bay down at least once every week and a half to two weeks. I'm wiping down with a lightly damp cloth (water) and focusing on the larger easy to get to parts. I don't let grime build up, I clean the grime before it bakes on. **If I'm close to showing, I'll pay attention to harder to reach places. If I can see it, I will reach and clean it. I've been known to bust out Q-Tips... lol** - If for whatever reason I take something apart... I take advantage and clean the part and or around the part. I do this even if the filth cannot be seen. Since I have my front bumper off at the moment... I went crazy with the cleaning and polishing. - I haven't done this with my 86 yet but when I'm within a few days of a show, I Armor-all all my hoses and black plastic parts, covers, and some black metal parts. My engine bays never get to a point where I would need to take drastic measures such as pressure washing. At shows with my Z, my engine bay was always the best... at the very least it was the best of any daily driven show car. I take pride in cleanliness especially in my engine bay. |

I just bought my new 15' BRZ 3 weeks ago. I want to take care of it like you do to your FRS. My previous 2014 FRS I took for granted that's why I got rid of it and wanted to start out fresh with the BRZ haha! |

Plus, if you ever decide to sell it...a clean engine bay will go a long way to showing a buyer that the vehicle was well taken care of. |
