Takes me 20min personally but I've done it many times already. Who knows how long it will take you depends on your work space I guess and tool selection.

Just installed the Tomei UEL and a new OP, what a bitch that was to get out, and was wondering what the process is for tightening and heat cycling before retightening the header nuts.

Fitted mine (the nameless 2.5" with 4" cans and catted midpipe with Helmholtz hooked up to the Tomei are too loud but that's another issue) then let it sit and iddle for about 5 mins before taking it for a mile test drive. Then garaged it and left it overnight. I was intending to retightening to 22ft/lb today, but might heat cycle it a couple of times before I do.

Just wondering what the official answer is or what the opinions are of those that have fitted and/or refitted these headers to this particular car.

Also; is better to retighten e.g. First thing in the morning, when stone cold or warmed to the point where the exhaust is still touchable.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of bolts for the header to over pipe connection? I just went to install a basically new tomei header, didn't know it came with two bolts, and noticed that I needed them. I messaged the guy I bought the header from and he said he didn't know if i wanted them.... So now I an hoping that I can pick up a set at a local hardware store.

Thanks in advance,
Memphis

Don't u just reuse the stock bolts and just use the new gaskets that come with the Tomei? I don't remember my Tomei coming with any bolts

you need bolts since the stock header has studs not bolts

Hey guys,

I was able to find some bolts. It was one of the last places I thought of.

Thanks for the help.

Dude you need to post a timed youtube video man. 20 minutes is insanely fast, even for someone who's done it a few times!
