Flow-formed processes have reached a point where these products are inexpensive enough for most people to reach. However many elitists will insist that only Forged wheels are "real" wheels and everything else is dangerous and cheap. This attitude shows lack of flexibility to allow new technologies and/or improvements in mfg processes to democratize technology. We also see this with other less expensive but effective products. It's easiest to spot when someone says "any part under $xxxx.xx is dangerous and people that use these parts are blah blah blah". There is certainly a middle ground, where newer tech makes previously price-prohibitive performance available to the masses. Being open minded enough to allow for that is equally as important as being a curmudgeon. I am not speaking about you @DarkSunrise, but I do see it quite a bit, and it doesn't help new affordable tech being taken up so more and more people can come to enjoy this hobby.
Yep I actually agree with you. I'm a big fan of flow-form technology making its way to low-end wheels. And my current track wheels are a set of TSW Nurburgrings that use a cheaper flow-form process.

My only point in posting that video was that it can be hard to see the difference between cheap knockoff wheels and expensive high quality wheels, but that doesn't mean the difference isn't there. That's one of the few videos that shows the difference. Not saying the more expensive wheels are worth it, just that there are tangible differences in quality and strength.

(Full disclosure: I've owned/tracked with cheap wheels like Rota Torques and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I've also got a set of TC105N's on order, which will be my new set of track wheels.)

I used to be one of those "Forged or go home" Guys. But after seeing the strength and weight of the tc105n. I bought a set.

Fakes are one thing and are absolutely terrible for the industry. Anybody knowingly buying a fake should be beaten. That's usually the problem with fakes though, you don't know it's a fake until you have it in hand (or you are the eternal skeptic and realize "too good to be true" is EXACTLY that and don't buy it in the first place).

Knock-Offs on the other hand...well, here is my selection method.
Brakes and wheels both fail the first check...

@JRitt I reckon you should get your hands on a couple of these knock-off brakes to compare and point out the differences between genuine and fake. You could also test them to see how they hold up or fail. I'm sure many us and other online forum's would appreciate that type of information. Something to consider I suppose...
