wanted to avoid making a new topic so decided to bump this as i am currently shopping around for a FR-S. Additional reviews from other dealers or currently listed would be helpful

I bought mine from Crown Toyota in Ontario. Took over for someone else's preorder. They called me the day the car came in, no markups or added crap (except standard PIO) and even made sure to put a "SOLD" sign on my car and not let anyone drive it before I came to pick it up the next day.

I also bought my Whiteout FR-S from Crown Toyota. They called me the day it came in, no mark ups or additional add-ons. No one was allowed to test drive it. I bought it with 10 miles.

Going to give them a call. Its about an hour away but sure beats a marked up pricing locally if I get as lucky as you two.

Toyota of Hollywood

Yesterday, Toyota of Hollywood told me that they were charging $1500 over MSRP for all FR-Ss.

I never liked this dealership and I am happy to stay away from them.

I was told that Puente Hills Subaru was expecting 3 BR-Zs by the end of July. I was also told that there would be a $5,000 markup on each of them.

That's incredibly sleazy.

The worst "market adjustment" I've ever seen was also at a West Covina dealership. West Covina Nissan wanted $60,000 over MSRP for a GT-R.

I know nothing on Scion, so please explain how they can get mark ups and still be a "pure pricing" dealer? If the Scion dealer can negotiate upward (with a mark up), then you can certainly negotiate downward (with a discount), which, it seems to me, destroys the whole idea of pure pricing.

But maybe this issue is better left to another thread.

Good luck! John Villalobos took care of me. Mention my name, Ray. He'll know who I am, and take care of you.

I know when the FR-S just came out in June, West Covina had the crazy mark ups because of their manager. He stated that the car was limited production for this year and "good luck" trying to get one in white and pretty much laughed in my face. Fast forward to present time, they've been calling me saying they have FR-S' for MSRP now. The manager was fired, supposedly.

Scion of North Hollywood has a 7k mark up which was the added five axis kit...nothing more. It's also supposed to be standard in all their FR-S.

Just gave him a call. Very nice and honest guy. It's funny that he knew who you were without me saying your name. Are you related? haha Jokes aside, i appreciate the help Ray!

You're so right. I've always interpreted "pure pricing" as the negotiation scapegoat. Now, personally I think the MSRP on their cars is right on target and they really do a good job at pricing their products, but again, when the whole "mark up" issue comes up and the manager has to defend it, they can just go, "uhh, it's part of pure pricing" -- it's a hazy definition.

But again, not an attack on Scion (love em). Just my interpretation of the "pure pricing" concept.
