It's a 3.8L (to everyone saying 3.6L ).

http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel3523-4069.htm

Run down, the FRS has better braking and is lighter but loses in every speed category (obvious reasons, powerful V6).

The most interesting part about that link is the lap times which show the Genesis faster on both tracks but no indication on what mods were done (or if both were stock) so it's pretty useless other than the stats.

Most people guess the FRS anywhere between 8:30 - 9:00 on the Nurburgring and the Genesis AT 3.8 does it in 8:28 actual:

I think all in all, an FRS/BRZ/86 with bigger and better tires (on proper rims) and a few suspension mods would destroy a stock 3.8L pretty easily in the hands of a good driver. The weight difference is just too massive (almost 800lbs between the two).

Twins win IMO

I think it might be close, too many variables. It might beat it, I dunno about destroying it. The Ring is a doozy. It's moot, I don't care if it's slower, faster, etc. for the $, it was my best choice for comfort, tech, and power as a DD.

Really, no cruise on the RSpec? I didn't even look at that one. I wanted all leather, real stitching, nav, bluelink, all the goodies. Really? No cruise? I'll have to check that later. I'm pretty sure it does though.

Dude those times, ehhh, that's for the older Genesis Coupe. Not the '13+ with the 348Hp engines.

For sure, the new one is damn potent. The full Brembo brakes and 348hp definitely make it a beast. They're actually both really awesome cars and in the sound category, the 3.8 exhaust note with a full exhaust is just insane. I have a friend with a twin-turbo 3.8L making some serious powaaa

You're not supposed to use cruise control during break-in anyway, and I never keep my cars much longer than that.

That's what broke the deal I was working up with a Hyundai dealership before buying my BRZ. No cruise control, no care.

Its a standard feature on the R-Spec, it comes with Cruise Control. I just confirmed on the website and some guys on the 3.8 forum.

Weird. Maybe they added it to the '14 models. It definitely wasn't available on the '13 model I looked at. At least there were no immediately visible buttons that said "CRUISE" or whatever.

Links to reviews of the 2013 Genesis 3.8 R-spec also confirm no cruise control:

The R-Spec trim level is defined as much by what creature comforts you don't get as by the go-faster additions that you do. You'll find no cruise control buttons on the Coupe's steering wheel, and the exterior rearview mirrors lose their heating elements and turn-signal indicators.

Part of the R-Spec's appeal is a nominal amount of complexity has been saved by removing some accessories, such as cruise control. I didn't miss it as I rarely use cruise control as I don't like the loss of control. However, I think it's the first car I've driven without that almost standard feature in a long long time.
