I'm too busy texting to pay attention to tailgaters
Just kidding! I never text and drive. Don't ever text and drive! Nick C.

Should've found an AE86.
I hope somebody understands this reference. Then again, the original comment could have *been* a reference.

Turn off the damn phone.
No reason in the world to have it on while driving. Ever.

Except to play my music that's on the phone?
To the OP, I hate tailgaters too. Because they put my life (and my passengers) in danger! And before I get the "move over" comments, my usual situation is I'm going 70-75 and passing the slow lane traffic at a pretty rapid pace. If I'm unable to easily move over, I use a combination of slowly letting off the gas & window washer. Mostly I just sigh and assume they are having a bad day and I'm not and move over when I can. I often wish I had a second window squirter, but aimed straight back at their grill and I'd fill it with something that smells like a fart from a dead skunk. |

Eh, I simply slow down gradually. I don't like to take the risk of them causing me injury due to them following too closely. If they insist on still tailgating, the slower and slower I drive. This way if they do hit me, it should be minor rather than getting severe whiplash. Amazingly some do back off as a result possibly because I don't drive slowly for the most part.

I drive slower to piss them off. It also leaves more space in between the car in front of me. For safety ya know? Safety first lol if they get the hint and back off I speed back up.

It really depends on the situation.
Open highway? I'll merge over, let them pass. Sorta busy highway? Drive even slower, brake early, 4+ cars in front of me. There's not point tailgating when traffic will not allow you to travel appreciably faster than I already am. Stop and go traffic? This is the most retarded reason to tailgate. Why do you need to be 4 inches from my bumper when we aren't even moving at all? Anyhow, I leave 2+ cars in front, brake very early, accelerate very slowly, hopefully they'll get the message: YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE. |

Just get a loud exhaust. Believe me, people will be scared to tailgate or pass.
