2013 Automatic gearbox. I was averaging 30mpg for my first 3000 miles on Shell 92 octane with "up to ten percent ethanol".
The crickets were driving me crazy so I switched to 90 octane sans ethanol from 76 and the chirping stopped. I installed a TRD cold-air intake and had the battery terminal off, resetting the trip computer, went on a 4hr highway drive and averaged 35mpg. Replaced the stock battery with an Optima red top, resetting the trip computer, mixed driving since then has been 26mpg. |

The MPG calculator in the car is optimistic.
My computer says I'm doing 7.8L/100km (roughly 30.16MPG) Realistically from my calculations (fillup) - I'm doing approx 27-28 mixed driving. |

Onboard computer says 29.8 for the past 6500 miles. I only run Shell 91 ethanol-free, and drive the dogsnot out of it.

You guys must drive on the highway most of the time. Most of my driving is city, is that why it averages 26?

I'm averaging between 29 and 30 mpg per fill-up (combination highway / local miles).

I was getting around 28-29 until pretty recently. I drove down to Florida and my average dropped quite a bit from all the highway miles(I was getting about 25mpg on the hwy).
After installing my k&n filter and inlet hose and driving like a sane person, I was able to get over 35. If I was good all the time it would be better. Now that I know what I can get though, I'm done driving like a granny, lol.

I get about 30 on highway driving to school (15 miles) and about 28 local. 35 on traffic and 127 in neutral lol. And when I want to have fun, about 12mpg LOL.

My commute is 3.5 miles on surface streets. I don't do a whole lot of driving outside of that. I've been getting around 25 - 26.
![]() I don't trust the numbers the carputer shows, they always seem to skew a little on the high side compared to my fuelly.com numbers.
