Has there been any news or announcements on when the brz pricing will be out?

^ Not that I have heard of. And the long delay from the US price release can likely be read as a sign that they are planning on a nice fat markup given the demand they are seeing together with the low supply. Estimate: $31K for a Premier.

To play optimist for a change, maybe Subaru Canada is fighting with the dealers who are used to HUGE profit, to get them to accept a sensible price?

Back to pricing.....How can subaru expect charge over 30k for a premium when a FRS is only 26k? I mean it's pretty much the same car with a little different lip.

We're looking at the precedent here - ie the 30% markup that Subie charges for the WRX in Canada - a vehicle that is almost identical in price to the BRZ in the US. That would have the BRZ at about 32K here. They may go a bit lower b/c of the FR-S competition but a lot of ppl want the added BRZ features and/or are badge snobs, so with their very limited supplies they will get away with huge markups.

Then they're going to pay through the nose for it. Good luck to 'em ;-)

I actually liked the interior more on the brz compared to the frs, but if i'm gonna pay 30k + for a premium brz then i'm definitely gonna switch over to scion....thats of course....if there's any left....

Subaru is seriously banking on brand value.

IMO, they should have never made their WRX's cheap. They dug their own grave with that one.

cuz pound for pound, there is no logical reason for a typical person to buy a BRZ over a WRX.

Logic rarely gets in the way of automotive choices. if it did, we'd all be driving used Prius and Smarts.

Thats why they cant charge 30k plus. Not only that, the wrx is awd and comes with turbo. So if they price it near the wrx it would cannibalize the brz sales most people would go for the wrx.
