I second the Lexol product. Leather will always crack unless you are meticulous. But crack leather can be cleaned and made to look a little better.
I still prefer leather over cloth. I have cloth in my 2004 WRX. After 13 years it looks pretty good after a shampoo, but the seams are wearing and then I will replace with custom leather job. The main negative of cloth is stains and materials get into the cloth beneath the surface and stay there. They can add to a negative smell and are very tough to get out. Think of it like a mattress that absorbs things. Some guys have literally taken their cloth seats out and placed them in the shower for cleaning. The stories of the amount of nasty stuff that comes out are crazy. Leather seats in my other car which is just as old have no smell issue. Sure some cracks, but that's patina or a life well lived. Lexol every week will help. |
