Well all models are Manual with the option of Auto. I think it will be an auto only option if you have an auto you will get remote engine

I understand the liability concerns of Subaru/Toyota installing remote start on a manual transmission car, but cars these days are intelligent enough to have sensors to tell if the car is in neutral or in gear. Why can't they just disable the remote start if the car isn't in neutral.

The BRZ premium has a traditional key ignition (no push button).

Lee's Summit Subaru (Kansas City, MO) has said their allocation is 7 for the year. They had a "waiting list" of more than 20, though, and I am not sure if any of those seven remain unspoken for.

I have my name in as an "interested party" but have not put down a deposit. They have not called me.

That sucks, I'll update it

Update:
actually that's an FR-S you can tell by the lower quality materials and FR-S climate control knobs. Hmm interesting, if that is the Premium then it really is an FR-S with a few changes that cost 2-3k more. they could have used an FR-S and changed a few parts since it's only to show the car (no one will sit in it) They did something like this for the LFA they rather cover the whole car in orange vinyl than paint it each time

Sorry, that's not correct. There's been no official mention of remote engine start. Read through the feature set on Subaru.com, click specs in the upper right. Keyless start doesn't mean remote start. Premium trim gets a remote-lock fob and a metal key. Limited gets metal key for emergency, however the fob has proximity [un]locking and adds the push-start button.

See this post by Hachiroku of a Premium BRZ at a USA auto show:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=11

Then see my picture of a Limited BRZ I shot in person:

The climate control knobs knobs are the same on the FR-S and BRZ Premium.

yeah I guess that's true and I was being a bit optimistic. Perhaps that is the auto climate control option and of course which would make sense lol

I updated the original post to reflect the push button for limited

also the Base model may only have 6 speakers while Premium and up has 8, but i need someone to confirm this

That's a limited. The thread I posted above shows the premium interior with manual climate controls.

Exactly. The limited has the three knobs with LED number displays, that's the auto-climate feature. only on Limited BRZs. The FR-S and Premium get the three huge ugly knobs.
