Found these instructions on Subaru's techinfo, seems to be a little different than most instructions have shown. I'll be giving that a new try once my new side clips show up.

This looks very promising. I will give it a try when I have some free time.

Also, it appears Subaru has issued a TSB and released a new part for the side clips to fix this issue.

Interesting. I take it you ordered the old ones? Who has the lowest price on Subaru parts these days? I may have to order these new clip things.

I double checked the part numbers from my emailed receipts and it looks like the drivers side is the new part number, pass side is the old part #, however, they both look the same. I ordered the new part number for my passenger side from my local dealer to double check.

To further muddy the waters, I just took a look at the brackets i removed from my car, and they are exactly the same as the ones i replaced them with (and the ones pictured in the TSB). My car is early production (VIN >0750) and way before the apparent fix went live in production. weird.

i took it off again today out of OCDness trying to fix it, no luck (i don't think, anyway) so far.

i will say the drivers side (new part number) clips do stick a LOT better than the passenger side (old part number) clips. i'm not sure if that's a coincidence or just my bumper, but we'll see on friday or monday when the new part number passenger side bracket comes in.

yes it is. at least subaru seems to be addressing it though. i figured if you went to a dealer over this they would just say its your fault for removing the bumper in the first place.

My dealer mentioned he noticed it not lining up last time, i should've let them look at it but I knew I had the cover off already and would just try to fix it on my own. Now that I see there's a TSB for it, if i'm unable to get it lined back up i may take it in to see if they will take a look at it. We'll see.

Unfortunatley they will find my intercooler by removing my bumper

Is there a similar TSB from Toyota?
