View Poll Results: If Toyota made a convertible FR-S for the US, would you buy one?
No I like coupe version of the FR-S better. 133 39.82%
Yes I think it looks great; plus a soft top should help keep the weight and price down. 44 13.17%
Maybe, could we get a hardtop convertible as well like what Mazda does with its MX-5 Miata. 67 20.06%
No I personally wouldn't want one because I already have a coupe, but would like it built for others. 90 26.95%

I like the idea of a hardtop. Even better would be a 2+0 hardtop like the Z4. In terms of R+D and cost savings I think the 2+2 hardtop is most realistic.

It seems that the convertible was something envisioned by the big wigs and not the enthusiasts in the company. They should have made a carbon fiber hardtop for their demo. It looks good now, but it would have looked sick with an automatic CF hardtop.

The mechanics for a hardtop retractable roof adds a shit ton of weight.

Maybe it's just the color, but I really find myself missing the humps over the rear wheels. They are very noticeable on the coupe. However, between the color and the drastic straightness of the line that follows the window/bottom of the roof, the rear just looks really awkward to me.

I was never a fan of convertibles. One of the reasons I never bought an S2000. Secretly, I was waiting for a car like that in a hard top. Who would have known it'd be Toyota/Subaru/Scion making it?

wow didn't expect it to look that good with the top up, usually (besides hard top converitbles) rag top is ugly with the top closed..

It looks way better than I thought and the more I look at it, the more I like it. Though it does feel a bit generic and lost some characters of the coupe. the couple just feels more special imo.

Definitely looks a lot better with the top up than I had expected!
I was expecting the worst because the early pics didn't show the top up.
I'd still prefer the coupe because of the weather up here, but perhaps a hard-top/targa would be a good alternative.

I wanted to see a raven convertible, so I photoshopped this.

If someone can do a better job, please do so. I'm not that great at this lol

Ya with the top down it looks sick, but with it up, the white paint and dark cloth just doesn't match. If you were to get it in Raven or Asphalt, that would look nice both ways!
