Not to start another debate, but what parts besides the BBS wheels would you think be too costly? I even left off brembos to keep cost down. |

I definately agree that all of it is possible, just unrealistic for Subaru to release a 2.2 260HP engine (and IMO that's possible as well, 2.0L 240HP has been done, so 2.2L 260HP is definately possible) and all of those other parts at the originally requested price of 30k. That's what this discussion has been about. edit: was wrong about the 2.4l part not being original to the request. Fixed post.

You didn't read the whole thing because I suggested a 1k premium for a track model and you missed the part about the 2.2 - 2.4 liter with 240-260 hp so 2.4 was always part of the discussion. Unless you want to pull a fatoni and take my lowest displacement(2.2) and pair it to the highest HP(260).

Also, I updated my post stating that I missed the 2.4 well before you replied. 2.2L with 260 is far more desirable to me than the 2.4L version would be. I'm not argueing that it's impossible to create that engine, in fact if you read my posts you'll clearly see that I said it was, and that I want it to be a 2.0 with 240HP (also obviously possible). I just don't fool myself into thinking it would be in a car that costs 30k with all the other things you mentioned (excluding the second special model)

look, i dont object to want. i just dont think it can be had for the amount of money you are saying. if you wanted a turbocharged 240 or even 260 hp i can see that but to make that kind of power without it would require some serious engineering and with a car that is going to be limited in production, the price of that engineering is going to be significant. if i came off as a ****, which im sure i did, im sorry |

Those of you asking for an increase in displacement know that they'd have to increase bore, because there is no way to fit a longer stroke between the wheels? Other subies already have oversquare engines already.

I just want something as light as possible while still retaining AC. If they can get the curb weight below 2600 pounds, I'd be willing to pay more than $30k. I don't care for an increase in power or anything else, though I wouldn't mind some fixed aluminum calipers.
I'm sure they'll sell about 30 of those... (I'm willing to pay even more if they're able to reduce weight more.) |

I'll wait to see What the next STI offers. Or if the BRZ gets turbo with 300hp.

He's talking about the "STI" and/or "STI Track version", not the regular BRZ.

Not sure if this has been posted before, so sorry if it has. I thought some of you might like. I can't wait for a BRZ, STi or not.
