congrats! sounds super exciting... contrary to what everyone else is saying. I just have ONE request... enjoy yourself. Haha. Don't worry (too much) about what everyone else wants... don't spend your time taking a billion pictures without time enough to soak it in for yourself. The car won't be going anywhere and just make sure to take in-focus, clearly composed shots when you can. I'm guessing, it's going to be hell trying to get pics of the initial unveiling so maybe just sit back for an hour or so till you can get a good set of shots.

have a safe trip! and my advice is to have TWO cameras... one dslr (or primary nice camera) and one affordable point-and-shoot (for quick/unexpected shots).

Congratulations - Japan is an absolutely amazing place you'll have a fantastic time.

If you're into your classic Toyotas, check out the History Garage at Toyota Mega Web in Odaiba (very close to center of Tokyo). I was there in January and they had the likes of:

- Plenty of classic Toyotas (AE86's, classic Celicas, old Skylines, etc) + some other brands
- Ex-rally ST185, ex-race Supra.
- Some F1 stuff and other race cars/parts.
- Few old race 3SGTE's sitting out in the open ready for a good look (steal some bits! :P )
- Mint 2000GT (this wasn't in history garage, it was on display near the cafe in Mega Web at the other end of the building)

I managed to drop into the Tokyo Autosalon this year which was pretty cool - but not as great as I hoped (every second booth was a GTR presented by a random tuning company). Hopefully 2013 Autosalon is the year of the FT86! Did get to see a sweet LFA though.

Don't bother with a Japan Rail pass if you're only in Tokyo - you'll travel mostly on the Subway which isn't covered by it.

Hey guys. Almost there! Just over a day to go as i fly out tomorrow to meet the guys from Toyota Japan and Toyota GB!
