Be careful, lots of folks here hate rumors, worse yet possible rumors with possible pictures, which may lead to more rumors.

I've always thought the "tS" (which I believe stands for "Tuned by STI") designation to be kinda redundant when comparing it to STI, but I guess I see the distinction. Always thought the "WRX STI tS" to be kinda funny.

great so it comes with a wing I don't want, body kit I don't want, the wheels are meh and I have to pay for all that. I hope it comes with significant extra power but I have no idea how they are going to make more power out of this engine without FI.

i had a big shhpeel in a thread a long time ago over the name STi

To many people are associate the name STi with the Tuning Shop STi and the Vehicle Trim STi.

STi vehicle trim denotes that its a performance vehicle Direct from subaru.

While the Tuning shop STi has very little dealings with production models from Subaru.

and Tuning Shop STi is only responsible for vehicles like Legacy S406 and the Impreza WRX S206..the only true STi models.

ts denotes that the tuning shop STi has offered a production trim level in which they are responsible.

In Japan there are WRX STi ts models...meaning Tuning Shop STi took a Production model WRX in STi trim, and offered their shops flare..

No. Reasonable people here think unfounded rumors that lack any sort of legitimate source and are based on stupid kids speculating on the internet are worth hating.

Information based on actual sources or some conversation on actual photos of said topic should be more than welcome.

If it makes more power than 200 without F/I then it would probably come with 10-40 more hp and about 3 lb ft of torque with about a 1k higher redline I bet. In other words I probably still wouldn't be impress with the engine in daily driving.

Sweet. I hope there is something nice under the hood. Stock power is good, but not great.

personally, i think the best enhancement a manufacturer can make is to the chassy.

there are so much rigorous testing involved in making a good platform and a good suspension set up that us tuners and even experienced shop owners just dont have the time or resources to do.

I believe that if this is truly a hardcore enthusiasts's car...the Toyota and Subaru will think of ways to improve the cars character (drivetrain & Chassy) rather than outright power output. because honestly the power department is up to tuner.

Id rather see this car be the fastest D-stock class and achieve comfort, reliability, and economy. Then put this car in the slowest of c-stock, aiming to be fast.

Kinda agree. If they did an STi version and only added say 20-30 more NA hp... I could live with that and be very attracted to that car... IF... IF... they also on that same car dropped 200-300 more lbs... Added better brakes... Added better aero... Added better suspension. And it was below ~$32K. Take that budget track car to another level, but still pretty affordable. All while keeping it very different from the WRX/STi power output and market target segment. Yep, I would like that alot.

Don't count on that combo. More weight off is going to start costing a lot in materials.

Just because we don't see any engine changes from the outside doesn't mean they can't happen on whatever they bring out. Aero and suspension tweaks are good to test out on a track like the 'Ring. You don't necessarily need to test an engine on that.
