an animator contact i know that works with the production team involved with Initial D says they have might have another movie (OVA) that might be released as 5th stage or another OVA special like impact blue.

I also heard the animators are working on a initial D short featuring the GT86 for the launch of the car next summer.

If you want to know what happens after ID4 anime..your going to have to read the manga. Its crazy addicting.

Start here, literally right after Keisuke defeats God Foot (ID4), if you were convert the rest of the story so far into an anime, you would have probably 3-5 more stages

Welllll.... the 86 is being built in Gunma.

As for the 5th Stage, it was my understanding Takumi would go circuit racing after Project D... I wouldn't mind seeing he and Keisuke on the track in an 86 and BRZ (respectively) taking on other members of the Todo school and some of Bunta's rivals. Of course it would be a carryover from Project D with Ryosuke and Hiroshi Fumihiro at the helm of the team.

I'd love to see the overly dramatic chronicles of an animated Toyota "86" but be warned. The first panda'd out FR-S I see is getting vomit all over the hood.

in the manga its passed the fourth stage ending point. I believe they are at chapter 192.. so i think it would be a different series

^Right I just realized that. The manga went on with a Supra, MR-S, 350Z, and NSX among others but I stopped following. I think it got too formulaic to justify continuing the anime. We need something fresh.
