I will probably DD and would like to get into some autocross or some sort of competitive driving. Not gona spend 23k +/- on a car just to save it for the track.

I will occasionally track the car but it will mostly be used as my DD

I'd track it much more often if I had a stronger financial stability (freaking med school). However... I do plan on working this baby in Canyon runs.

only reason why i wouldn't replace my current track toy with the FR-S is because of the warranty. God knows id do lots of engine work and mods that would ultimately void my warranty. Unless i buy a used FR-S down the road with an already void warranty which would become cheaper...otherwise if im paying for a new car warranty Id want to keep it until its over, before i start modding it and I don't think i can wait that long.

I'm kind of in that stage where I'm trying to figure out what my optimal driveway would be and the FT86 is gonna be one of 2-3 cars but I could see it being my daily since it'll probably sip gas pretty slowly compared to my other car (probably 05-09 Legacy GT or X5, I have time to figure this out). Those of you thinking of using the 86 as your track car why not just buy a Fmod for a fraction of the cost? I know there are some of you going to race and dd the car. But there are some looking at mostly/strictly racing the 86. Seems something like an Fmod would provide a better bang for the buck, no?

it will be my semi-DD. since its relatively cheap it should be cheaper to mod and I can make it more track focused then my 335.

I want to car to be a trackcar that I can drive on the streets and eventually make streetraces. It is not like the only M3 E30 trackcar I plan on building.

The whole reason I am interested in this car is because in every way i look at it, it feels like it will be an absolute joy no matter the conditions

it feels like it will be a true driver's car

and that in itself, makes me happy

so with that said my FT will do it all
