extra 6k seems a waste now I have sat back and looked at it.
I can get better wheels
And set up my own LED strip lights with HID's

I will miss push to start though.

seriously, it wasn't that the extras weren't worth it but it just ceased it be the bargain it is. 40k and you have to consider other cars.. at 34, not really..
What other RWD 2 door cars can you get for 40k that a great fun around corners?
Cause i have been looking for years, closest you can get is an MX5 which cost more (and the constant ridicule you get for driving a hairdressers car)
The 370z which is 70k or a BMW 135i for over 80k
Renault megane RS250 would have been my next choice, but again, 10k more and FWD..

love the gts...

for those sydney siders ive met, the warmers keep my hand at 0 degrees instead of -20. while i like the shape of seats, i HATE both trims... the material bit attracts dirt, wouldve been better with sports mesh material like my mazda 3 so it doesnt get filthy/ damaged easily.

the sat nav was defo needed from the drive back from vic - where i wouldnt have been able to get/install a new head unit in time.

because i picked the granny option (auto), i considered the paddle shifts as must haves, and a redeeming quality. yes i love manuals, but hate sydney traffic more.

the front lights - i love love love these... polishes the look.

i prefer the 17". in fact i like them enough to not change them.

digital speedo - a must. my beady asian eyes cant read the speed otherwise.

brakes. they didnt have any contributing factor for me... but husbys prob thankful his asian wifey got bigger brakes for the front bars sake.

all in all. if u were going to fully mod the car, get the GT. If u want a daily drive with a little fun and not having to do much (u r just as lazy as me and we shud be friends) get the GTS.

Smart entry and start makes me happy, as does the interior (T-mesh trim ... or as others are incorrectly saying, carbon fibre).
The audio/GPS unit didn't inspire me much ...

The GTS value to me made it worthwhile, but I know everyone is different and I understand individuals justifications for GT or GTS.
that is a good deal man, well done

The difference works out to be under $5k overall not sure where you all get the $6k mark.

I picked up my GT yesterday and I couldn't be more happy. The car is awesome. I didn't sit in a GTS though so have nothing to compare it to, but as the first new car Ive ever bought, I couldn't be happier.

Switched to a manual GT order instead of my GTS.

1. Wait is too long at present (my fault, should have order earlier)
2. Nil mechanical difference
3. Lighter
4. I'll upgrade head unit myself anyway
5. Climate control makes no diff in such a small cabin
6. Prefer 16 inch, better feel
7. Don't need heated seats.

Pretty much all the cosmetic stuff I can do myself for a fraction of the price.

what about the cool cluster/centre console/push start/black headlights. headlights alone 2k +. i seriously thought about changing from GTS to GT but headlights are the dealbreaker for me since they are 1.1k each... too much. i would've got charged 35k driveaway for my white GT that was to be delivered end of june but secured a deal for 39k for GTS with october delivery (probably november)

As discussed in another thread the brakes were the deciding factor for me. The expense of upgrading a GT to GTS brakes was not justifiable but the extra stuff in a GTS wasn't wanted. Hence my decision to go with a BRZ.
