Your car doesn't have an interior light? (not that I even need the light - muscle memory has allowed me to insert the key on the first try, every time, for every vehicle I've ever owned more than a week over the past ~35 years..) And this perceived 'convenience' is more than a little silly on a car marketed as a quasi-track ready vehicle...

Ok I will give you the muscle memory thing, but Its not just about putting the key in the hole, It's about not having to find the key in the fist place. Especially in the freezing pouring rain, or waiting for your scatter brained wife to remember which pocket/bag she put the fracking car keys.

The idea of press button start being silly is in itself a tad silly. Most modern cars/suvs/trucks have press button start. My wife's CX9 had key-less entry and start in 2008, my daughters base model Jeep has press button start and key-less entry, the last car that I purchased without it was 18 years ago and none of them were sports cars.

I think your 35 year perception of press button start as somehow related to sports/track cars is a little dated.

I am with you! My last three cars had keyless entry/push start and it is the only thing I miss. I still mutter under my breath every single time I have to fish that damn key out of my pocket to open and start the car.
Will it ever be understood that most of these cars are not used as "track ready" vehicles but simply as every day cars?
I guess people think the key is like MT where it connects them more to the vehicle and gives them a more visceral experience.

Well, the car key is unmistakable on my key ring...it's by far the biggest and thickest, so there's ZERO confusion as to which key is in my hand. And while I agree that pushbutton start has become quite commonplace (if not the norm) even on the most pedestrian of vehicles, that still doesn't mean it's any less silly. Sort of speaks volumes about the power of suggestion and marketing, and the type of 'conveniences' people have been steered into wanting.

Yeah, but the fob doesn't have an armrest. And it is not nearly aggressive enough.

For me the joy of driving is about being in control of the car. I don't like electronics doing anything for me. But putting a key in a slot isn't part of the driving experience. So in that case I am all for using technology. I guess I am strange guy. I am a software developer so naturally I am all into technology, specifically for simplifying life. My house is full of automation. I am obsessed with it. Technology can do anything it wants in a car as long as it isn't taking control away or intercepting my controls in any way.

I really wish my car had push to start. If I had my way I would have a single RFID key in my watch which could be used to unlock my house, get me into the office, pay for crap and get into my car.

I'm actually surprised they didn't go with a different style shift knob considering TRD had a different shift knob.

Anyways, I think GR did a superb job on the car. Looks great. Even though I don't like the new front end, they made it work.
Also, the seats and wheels look awesome!
I'd be interested in those wheels, but I just adore the stock ones too much haha

I guess if I had to complain about something, it would be the decision to make a center exhaust. Not a fan of that.

No, which is what makes 90% of the complaints sort of irrelevant, especially considering the Japan-only market price.

If anything, people should aim their complaints at the BRZ tS, which is expected to sell next year. I already saw the car in person at the LA Auto Show.

It has an "aggressive, track-ready style". All that aero on a car that slow. That's aggressive, man.
