I looked up 245/620-17 and Google said it was -16.6048387097. I think that's the offset.

Actually I looked it up because I didn't know what the 620 represented. It's cool that they list the outside diameter in the size of the tire instead of a percentage of tread width.

My daily driver is a 2008 STI hatchback with enough power to humiliate a lot of V8's all day long. Great car but for the race track my car is a BRZ. It is an absolute joy to drive that car. I have been instructing HPDE for 10+ years and I drove and raced a lot of Miata's through those years. The BRZ... I like it even better. All the guys have given you really good advice through these posts but if you want to see it all together in action just come out either on 4/1 or 4/2 to the NCM race track in Bowling Green. Find a silver BRZ with CF front fenders and Aero package, that is me. We can talk to no end about what is best or not for track usage on a BRZ and you may get a ride or two if you want.
