I drove one at my local dealership too...not impressed either.
You can feel the car got slightly better steering response and more rigid chassis.
Other than then its just a 2.0 liter boxer car with uglier look.
I tested 86, which only has one model, and it doesn't have the G meter...

You mean the G meter that you can only read while standing still?

Yep. It goes off when you are moving. Good to tell you what you have done but no good for what you are doing.

Meh, it's a dumb feature anyhow. Like that snapchat speed app; just ditch bait.

@curiosul Perhaps one thing I could takeaway from your review that the controls were too playstationy, is that there was a model change in the steering wheel for different materials and button controls for the radio, which I think makes a drastic impact on the feel and presentation of the car.

Compare 2013 "sport" steering wheel:

To the 2017 "multimedia" steering wheel (the BRZ has twice as many buttons as this)

I think the earlier 2013's and 14's were set up to feel more analog 90's cars. Key-start non-push button, no steering wheel buttons, analog a/c controls, halogen incandecent lights.

I hate the feel of that new wheel! Haven't drove one and sure I would get used to it but it is horrible compared to the old style.

Is the new one leather? My only complaint about my '15 BRZ's wheel is that it gets really greasy after a while. I have sweaty hands, but I haven't had that happen with leather.

I'm wondering if the airbag cover would fit on pre-2017's?

Because anti-scion.

But no it won't unless you cut out the silver trim piece and you'll get a mismatch with the other two spokes, better off just popping the badge off and replacing it.
