Properly done with the right setup you can easily double the power with the right Rotrex.

Plus my mechanics race a 2 liter N/A engine and beat the times posted at Sandown, and thats against V8's , Ferrari's and Lamborghinis !

Of course I'm serious. We are not talking "a full setup" the kit is aimed at being road worthy with stock internals.

About 9 years ago I worked for HKS USA for 5 years. I kept up on the products somewhat and had some friends that worked there before they bailed on us...Thought I could chip in on some of the comments.

A Spec L exhaust is $2k. This kit will also need headers, intake and exhaust. I assume it comes with reflash software but I could be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if the kit alone costs $8-$10k and with all associated mods you have no change from $15k.
All HKS S/C and turbo kits come with intake piping and filter unless it's called a "set up kit". The Z kit it will came with a smaller version of the FCON that was not programmable in the US. The reason was because you can't have a changeable ECU to get it to pass emissions (CARB). The international version may come with somethink more tuneable, I guess you'll have to wait and see. Either way though it should come with something.

Twin screw would be cool for the TQ I've heard these cars need. HKS did make changes to this design to make the S/C more responsive and less parasidic than most centrifugals. I'm sure you check it out on thier site if you were interested.

GT Auto is correct, see his comment. They started several years ago with Rotrex and decided they could make a better design and more durable in house. So they went forward with thier own S/C similar in design.

It's made by them now for quite a while, see above.

I like these cars so just here lurking around. Hope that helped clear some of that up. :happy0180:

where is the LS1 going to fit?? its about 3 times the height of the subi motor, about about the same in weight haha.
Driving it would be like driving my ute, heavy front, no weight over the rear, lots of power..
confusing handling!

I added a Centrifugal blower to my old S2000.

This defo looks like a Rotrex (which has internal variable gearing - like a CVT gearbox). When, compared to a Vortech/Comptech, gives less of a peak figure, but a lot better low down torque.

This was the result (at the wheels)

Forget about stock internals. Have you ever built an engine ?

I can 100% tell you the HKS isnt a Rotrex. Is it better ? Is it more durable ?

But one thing for sure is a SC centrifugal which will be great, my experience.

Will it meet Carb , in a word NO for the states.

Will $7,000 get you a bolt on kit for an OEM untouched engine NO

A whole kit engine work etc will be around $15,000

None of you will do it. So enjoy the 125 KW's at the wheels at take it for what it is
