For affordable sporty cars, I think you may be happy with: a Civic Si coupe/Civic Type R/Toyota 86 TRD or BRZ tS.
They're all well built, very reliable, easy to mod, get great mileage, and quick -not blow your doors off fast (except the Type R). Lower end Camaros are very good too (except for the blind spots). I'd avoid the GTi only because they're good (but ugly) cars but not built to last. Challenger is a cool car but will become a money pit (as all things Chrysler). I'd avoid the new Mustangs with their failure prone transmissions (Ford should not have replaced steel parts with aluminum). |
