If they had developed something all new on a brand new platform like the A90 Supra, it would probably be just as expensive (if not more so without a co-development partner like BMW) as the Supra, which would put it out of reach of many Z enthusiasts. For me, the fact it is just an evolution of the 370Z is a feature, not a bug. They've 'fixed' the key parts people thought were outdated (turbo, interior) and left the parts (simple, manual, RWD, affordable) that were already great. |

1) Z 2) Supra 3) Camaro (pre-2018 facelift, post-2018 probably slips below Mustang) 4) Mustang The two pony cars are just a bit 'big' for my liking, but then they are 2+2s with big engines. I honestly think the new Z is going to age very well thanks to its simple, clean lines and the lack of fussy styling trends like fake vents, scoops or creases. |

Supra
Mustang Camaro Z The Z will be a great option for people set on MORE POWAAH!! It won't have the feel of the twins but it does provide an option that there will be demand for.

To me, a Z should be more spartan and lightweight. ZX kinda (to me) means "luXo" but it also means "XL".
At well over 3000 lb. (MotorTrend estimates 3500 lb.), to me, it's a ZX. A short wheelbase 2-seat FT86 with NA V6 (or turbo 4, or even NA 4!), now *that* would be a proper Z... Last edited by ZDan; 08-20-2021 at 07:00 AM. |

I think the Z looks like they put a lot of effort into making it look like they put no effort into the design. The flat, uninteresting A-pillar forward makes it look like a bad rendering of a car in GTA circa 2000. The photos showing the slightly creased hood does make it a little more interesting from the prototype that has a flat hood, so I'm hoping it looks better in person.

Internet car enthusiasts finally got what they wanted. Now, will they actually buy it new? The price helps if you don't want as nice and expensive of a car as the Zupra and you want a more expensive slower car than any American option?

I wouldn't mind getting one (performance trim in M/T), but I recently spent $50k+ on another Nissan already. So the Z would have to wait. Plus, I generally don't like buying the first model year (or two) of a car. haha

Love this car. The only concern I have is the electric power steering. Most people say that the EPS on twins is one of the best, but to me it felt meh, I wonder how worst electric power steering feels. Actually, I don't want to know lol.
I hope Nissan will make the steering feel as close to hydraulic power steering as possible. |
