You guys can argue if there’s a turbo or no turbo until the cows come home, but bottom line is none of you know for sure. So why even bother. Just wait and see man, jee-zus

The best part about a turbo model potentially coming out is the drop in price of the current ones. They will be dirt cheap and you just add 5k in an aftermarket turbo or supercharger. It will literally be the best option around and likely outperform the factory one. Who cares about a factory warranty. I have had two warranties and never used them, and both were modded before the warranty was over.
I mean I agree the car needs more torque, but get her up to 4-5k and your breaking laws. |

You are a funny guy, you argument for something that does not exist now!
Ill believe when I see it and at that point something else will move the bar higher. The car came out in 2013, many lucky owners have been enjoying it since and some for not so long. Some of the people you have been arguing with here have more power and have seen that mods are part of their car game. They got some enjoyment that they would not have had if the waited for “the next one” that’s life. If you want to gamble the next one will fulfill your wishes is up to you but im enjoying mine now. Will you in 2 or 4 years when it will actually be sold ? |

In reality it doesn't matter since we have already established the next gen twin is a forklift with perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

I don't care. I was only commenting on 86MLR's comments on how the car is super fun stock, and super fun with more power. But, I seriously doubt they are going to make a $45k twin for those who want more power. No market. I'm surprised they even still make the twin.

I've quickly modded every single turbo car I've bought new (a lot). Not worried about warranties either. Never taken an N/A motor and added a turbo to it. I'm in the market and exploring options and it seems the next twins are close (not FOUR years.) I bet we'll see something in MY22. If the MY21s come out and they look and smell of "final editions", we'll have our answer.

Buy default the FA20 is capable of a bit over 300 hp+ without the use of a turbo or super charger.. The engine software just has to be tuned properly, that's all.. Investors in tunning hardware have already given us the key to unlock the performance output of this engine.. That's why they have not given us a turbo charger.. This engine already has a very high compression ratio 12.5/1.0 those are comparable to compression ratios of a bolt on super charger compressor.. There was no need for a turbo or super charger unless your drag racing the car or looking to put on and extra +175hp to the stock performance specs.. You'll just ruin the engine if your looking to put those gains on a stock engine.. So yeah, Toyota will have to start up another engine design from "scratch" to make sure its reliable and safe to their customers if your looking to get over +385 hp out of this FA20 engine..

Again, where's this $45K coming from? I bet they could pull off a base model for $32K.. |
