Do have to be careful though. If a compressed spring gets loose, it's a really bad day for whatever it hits...
I know a couple mechanics so ill see if they have suggestions. Maybe even one could join us. Then we could have an assembly line going.

Welcome turbocat! Beautiful car! I'm interested in the HPDE but I heard that the rules are changed now that it's under new ownership. I heard no sliding is allowed, etc. Can anyone confirm this?

I heard the same thing awhile ago, but I'm not trying to drift lol. I just would like to get some instruction, learn how to handle my car, and get my toes wet to see if this is something I want to throw some more money at.

I just know that the drift practice up there is no more. If you are out doing a HPDE type event on north track that isn't a private group, then you will be expected to be in control of the vehicle. Can you get a little loose? Maybe but if it is an event focused on grip you're not going to be able to hang it out or start linking apexes. I worked there years ago. It is a great place. The problem was drifting didn't make any money and wasn't benefiting the track. I think thats why they cut it.

You wanna drift look up clubloose. They go to Midvale speedway.

Yeah, I'm not trying to drift on the track either, but with our cars being naturally inclined to step out easily, I just didn't want to be kicked out for making the tail wiggle a bit. Does anyone know if they have insurance at the track? I wouldn't want to not have racetrack insurance and blow a tire and smack a wall like that Evo did last year.

HPDE events are to learn the racing line and push the cars to the limit. You can spin or catch the spin while going too fast. There is an instructor in the car with you at all times. The track at pitt has wide open spaces so if you loose control, you will end up in the grass with little chance of hitting the rail. The only dangerous spot is in the back straight region where I take it a little easy. BTW you are responsible for all damages to your car or the track. Thats how most HPDE events are, as far as I know.

The chances of going off track are very rare in HPDE 1 and 2
