All I want to know is if the STI will come in 5x114 like its other counterparts.

Okay, I'm ready to share something what Mr. Karamatsu said today reg. my direct question of BRZ STI

"STI is working on finalizing creation of the special version of BRZ, which would be unveiled in "some time" (secret). Turbocharger is NOT in the concept of this greatly balanced FR sports car, so we would concentrate our developments on suspension, handling, performance improvements and sports styling. The turbocharged version of BRZ will remain only in GT300 Championship"

SORRY GUYS ( Don't kill me, ... Coz' I'm just a soul, who's intentions are good... Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood )

JDM Bless for y'all from Karamatsu-san

From what I've read, the right prep involves sanding down the epoxy layer. This reduces the structural rigidity of the part. Sure you can paint it, at the cost of having part that performs below par.

That's not true. Also, when it comes to true dry CF it can also be painted

Cools, but the STi hood + roof aren't dry CF... they're wet CF which is a downer

Side note, it would be great to run CF hood, roof, front fenders and front bar (painted body color of course). Think of the modding philosophy of z-tune r34 gtr - complete CF front end.

wet is typically easier to paint compared to real dry cf

It will probably be a Japan only BRZ tS release like they have with the Impreza, Exiga, Legacy etc. I'd expect a turbo version, if any during the midyear refresh or at the end of the chassis lifecycle.

Just make the parts available at U.S. dealerships is all I ask! I can't afford the crazy-ass JDM tax and shipping they're asking right now!

To be honest, I actually really like the Sti version of the BRZ. The only things that bother me are that the lip spoiler needs to be body colored and all of that certainly doesn't seem like it's gonna come cheap. Even if the CF hood and roof don't make it to production (which I actually hope that they do, because the more CF people make, the cheaper it becomes) I think this will still end up at least 8-10k more than what they are now. That will kind of negate what the FRS and BRZ are, which is fun to drive, RWD, AFFORDABLE sports cars. An FRS/BRZ in the 38k - 40k range would easily turn me off..... Unless it could run in a straight line with a 370Z? Maybe?

as much as I'm holidng off for a BRZ STi version, there's no way i'm willing to drop 38k on one. I'd use that same money to buy a used IS-F/M3 or something else branded.

here's to hoping the STi model comes in under 35k
