Anyone else a little excited for the HKS Turbo kit?

Eehhhhh, no you got that backwards 362Kilowatts = 485.45Horsepower Either way the boost pressure does not show how much airflow you get at that pressure. As turbos get better and better over the years they can support more and more power on a give boost pressure. '6 PSI' never tells the whole story. |

I was trying to figure out what error was done if there was an error in conversion. 268 HP with a wrong conversion comes to a very typical number. I suspect 130 HP stock power number above should be a conversion error as well. Sure, you can use a big turbo and get more power at 6 psi. Is HKS turbocharger such a special kind? It looks just like the others in the pictures.

Hard to tell without seeing the full compressor blade and turbine really. The other possibility is that the dyno is one of those that estimates crank HP by measuring drivetrain drag on the overrun. That number can easily get fudged then by hanging on the throttle a bit. |

I would venture a guess at around 315 @6 psi on pump gas.
Now I’ll go get the popcorn |

That said, there's no way he's making a legit 360 rwhp at 6 psi on pump gas.

I would say it is impossible!
6psi is 6psi no matter what turbo you put on it. You will have to improve the airflow after the MAP sensor to make more HP. The more effecent turbos and intercoolers keep the IAT down. That is how they make more HP. |

So a small turbo at 6psi will make the same power as a large turbo at 6psi? No. Psi is a measure of resistance not air flow.
