I don't so much have a problem with the speed of the wipers, but I hate how low they sit on the windshield. If we have freezing rain, or snow and freezing temperatures, they get frozen and the ice won't melt even with the defroster on high because they don't sit up on the windshield.

I always keep 5 or 6 plastic grocery bags in my trunk for just this purpose. If there's any chance that we'll get some ice I just open a bag up and slide it over the wiper. Wrap it around a little bit with any openings facing downwards and you're good to go. It may not look pretty but it's better than spending 5 minutes trying to get the wipers off of the windshield and then breaking all the bits of ice off of the wipers.

Fastest setting

I believe that only works for the "Intermittent" (lowest) setting.
Once you move out of that, the dial has no effect.

+1

i used a microfiber towel to polish it off, then followed with some 'invisible glass', using a different mf to clean the windows.. at first i thought i took the entire coating off the window was so clear, but the first rain showed it was still there..
