Whats sup guys! So last month at Drift Nirvana i took the FR-S out on track for the first time! Went through 4 tires in a couple hours. They were junk tires i had got for free so i was happy to burn them off. The tires that were given to me were 215/55/17. I also brought my stock size tires with me in case i burnt up all my free tires. By the end of the day, i had to put my stock size tires up front 215/45/17, and ran the free ones in the rear 215/55/17. did a couple more laps without any problems.

On the way home from the event, i was still riding 215/45/17 up front and 215/55/17 in the back. about 5 miles from leaving the track, my car freaked out. Check engine light, ABS, trac control, steering angle sensor light, RPM gauge stopped working, along with the speedo. The CEL was for a wheel speed sensor code. The car went into a limp mode bc i was no longer able to go over 4k rpms. I figured it was from running different size tires. Once i got home, i put all the stock wheels back on and alll issues were resolved.

Being that i get used tires for free, i would like to know of a way that i can run different size tires w.o. the car freaking out. Is there a way to bypas this?

And why did this only happen after i was traveling home from the event? do you think i could run different size tires front to rear for drifting, but then have to bring another set of 4 for going home?

Mine did the exact same thing when I put my drag radials on. It has to do with the differential in wheel speed sensor data over a certain speed for a certain length of time that makes it go nuts.
I could drive around town forever but as soon as I was on the highway at a sustained speed for more than 3min BAM freak out

Sunday morning, nothing to do I went out and found this, it seems like a decent practice spot, and I need the practice lol 2 times I've spun out on the road (no one around when I try)
Spent a half hour there, and those lines are my route through it, back and forth lol 3 spin outs and I haven't gotten to the point of connecting the drifts, but it was fun, 2nd gear using power over method due to the lower speed (yes I watched that video lol) turned in early on the wide lines, stomped the throttle to let em loose and focused on modulating the throttle very lightly while getting the counter steering down and around the bends, ahaha nottttt as easy as I thought, the rear kicks out quicker than I anticipated but I'm getting used to reacting to it,

Definitely want to pick up the speed a biiit more next time and try the brake drifting, annnnd adjust tire pressure maybe, dunno what they're at even, but the front could use more grip for sure

Building my car into a drift car and bought tein basis coilovers just looking to DD and lower the car for now. Didn't think that buying kw v3s would make a difference for drifting but now I'm curious. Does the quality of the coilover make a huge difference for drifting or am I better off saving the money and putting it elsewhere?

Suspension is the last place to cheap out on. Especially for a drift car where the footwork can make or break the way the car drives.

I personally never cared for TEIN products. KW V3s are great but the fact that they don't come with camber plates for that price is a turn off.

Stance, Fortune Auto 500, BC, and HKS are some popular options. All of which offer damping adjustment and front camber plates.

Had a blast driving yesterday! Car did amazing. Drove a shit load. The Kendas worked out real well. Similar grip to the Ziex and last longer, for almost half the price. Here's some shots.

Getting the car tuned on e85 today, then off to Texas on Thursday!
