The sprint kit is pretty good value if you ever need better brakes
Not free, more like half price. If there were other color options, it wouldn't even be a question.

Let me look at that sprint kit...

Edit: The prices look nice, until you see its only for front and addig back about doubles the price.... $3K, $4K for brake upgrades??? F.... that!

Sprint kit is great fit for you since you're in FL and won't probably ever see salt. Add appropriate street pads for less noise and you're golden. Cheaper than the AP Racing Formula 4 pot I got as well. You won't need the rears either, there's no Essex designed rears for a reason.

They are very well priced. Maybe it is me but I always spend more on suspension, tyres and brakes. All before power upgrades too.

Yeah, its all a matter of tastes and likes. I can understand how someone can see the value on the brakes upgrades for a track junkie. That's not me, so how much am I going to use those awesome brake upgrades? not much...

If I had the money to shell it out, why not?? But unfortunately I don't. Pads, fluid, lines, brace it is Maybe painted caliper?? Too ghetto?

They also save 20lbs... So can get even wider tyres to take advantage of that with the turbo.

Nothing wrong with what you are proposing for brakes. I'd probably do the same while I am upgrading the driver.
As for painted caliper, personal preference really, nothing wrong with that either. Putting brembo stickers on them would be pretty Ricey though.

Because they can't figure out how to get the brake balance right with a better caliper setup in the rear. I kid, I kid.

Honestly, I like BBKs because a properly designed one will drop weight so the whole "more rotating mass, longer stopping distances!" argument is null. The benefit to me is in HOW the car stops. My WRX needed new pads after a full 3" exhaust because the stock brakes couldn't handle slowing down the car from speed anymore.

A rotor with more heat capacity and more pad, with more swept surface will FEEL tons better. I don't like jamming the pedal and feeling like I'm not slowing down. Stock brakes are definitely adequate for a N/A car (pad change required IMO), but I'd never run stock brakes, even with a higher Cf pad, on a turbo.

When I do my datalog pulls and decelerate from redline in 3rd gear to 2500 RPM each time, it puts a large amount of heat into the brakes, and I am definitely glad I have the Brembos and Hawks.

Stopping from speed is where I noticed the largest difference. It's like a freight train, almost laughable how quickly it goes from near 3 digits to low 2 digits.

I can afford the front kit. But doesn't that look bad? Having the kit in front and OEM in the back? Opinions and thoughts welcomed, keep them coming.

Sprint kit is unfinished (just hard anodized) so the the color will at least be similar to stock rears. Not having the rears doesn't bug me with my Formula kit too much, but if it starts to...I would just heavily sand the stock rears and then paint them black. Rear street kits are expensive and have little to no gain as far as weight goes due to retention of the iron hub for the parking brake.

You could also do Brembos all around for ~$1.5-3K.
