I predict that it'll come back. Would be cool if it didn't. Mysterious, but cool enough.

I'd still be mistrustful if it doesn't come back because that would mean it's an intermittent electrical issue.

Is there anything you can think of that would relate to this where it wouldn’t be an issue when the ECU has been battery-reset until it’s relearned?

Next time it does it shut it off. Unplug the MAF. And restart it. Should default into open loop. See if it still has the stumble.

Restart it without the MAF plugged in? 🤔

Interesting that it moves. Not enough info by itself. There are things that I'd do to test but I won't waste your time. Just keep us posted. I'll want to hear a recording of it when/if it craps out again.

Unplugging the MAF won't hurt anything. Just don't break the connector. The locking clip is pretty fragile. I've broken one inserting the plug and I'm particularly careful.

Just in case, from my notes...

MAF connector

My mom was complaining that she misses the mountains. I suggested we do a road trip this spring. (She doesn't like the cold) "No, I'm too old", is what I get. I told her I would come, pick her up, and take her to Tahoe. We could spend a couple days driving around enjoying the Sierra Nevada and lake, get out and walk a bit if she wants, find a couple good steak houses, even go play a little video poker. Her and my dad used to go to the casinos quite regularly and play video poker. I know she misses that too. I promised her we could stop at every rest stop if she wanted, no biggy. Then I'll take her back home. I told her it would be fun just the two of us. She is a stubborn lady, that's for sure.

That's pretty much the recording of every time I've had a car breakdown. Amazing.
