OOH They came in:

They were Labeled "Damaged for Parts" and this is all I could find. Everything else moved freely and look extremely good. I imagine this came off a low mileage car. They sell the crossover tube for $35 from the Porsche Dealer.:

Pads are close to same size as STI:

Old vs New Rotor. Not that much larger. I may make brackets to run the STI Rotor. I am seeing that moving Bias rearward is recommended. Using the STI rotor seems to change the bias an acceptable amount.

Edit: Well Slight kink in my plan. I was led astray and found out the 08+ STI rear Calipers are 40mm piston instead of 36mm as I have thought. Which means my Bias Calculations are wrong. Did a quick look, and I think around a 355mm rotor is really want I want/need. I can go slightly smaller to get some bias to the rear which seems to be wanted from the track guys. So I am going to try and return my Volvo Rotor and pick up a 370z Rotor.

How are you calculating brake bias? What is % you are shooting for front to rear? Great read thus far.

Using a calculator. Input all the measurements for the stock brake set-up and try and match with "aftermarket" stuff. Which in this case is all OEM parts haha.

So after I found the rear calipers I was using had a larger 40mm piston and needed to pick up a new rotor. I scrambled to find my old receipt for the Volvo Rotor. I though I had lost it and was really bummed. Found it in the back seat for some reason.

Got the rotors exchanged and started mocking up.

STI vs 370z Sport

5x114.3 Hubs on with rotor:

Now my Current issue is the +22 offset of the front wheels is going to be too much. I need a slightly lower offset to make them flush, even with dialing out the camber.

Edit: STI Brembo Size

Ran some calculations with an online calculator i found for my setup. What percentage of front bias did you find unsuitable with the 08+ rear 40mm size? Im trying to determine what i need to change on mine to make sure i have correct bias. I know you mentioned the track guys prefer moving some to the rear over stock.

Sweet pick up on the Porsche calipers.

I went off this image. You don't want any more front bias than comes stock, and Ideally you want to move it more rearward.

Using this Calculator to see where your stuff lands.

TCE Performance Brake Bias Calculator

Won't be 100% accurate as pad size and such effect bias, and I only used Piston Size and Rotor Diameter. Close enough for a mostly street driven car though. .697 is what the Stock system was calculated at. So It needs to be close to that or lower. I wouldn't really go lower than .67X as that is the bias with the Essex kit and it's very well designed. That is what I was aiming for, but I needed a 13.8" rotor and that was a bit more difficult to get a hold of without going custom.

I want to try and get a larger rear set-up eventually, but will have to wait.

Parts Came in and I am taking my radiator in to get the -20an fittings welded on.

These -20AN Fittings are huge. Can't imagine 24an

Ordered the wrong fitting for the steam port line into my expansion tank -_-

Great, thanks for the info! looking like i need to run a larger rotor with my setup.

Decided to move the Sard Wing backward and get rid of the ducktail spoiler. It was an amazon rep and fit terrible. Surprised I kept it for as long as I did. I think it looks better

I also got to working on the caliper bracket last night. Spent way too much time on it (didn't get to bed till 3 A.M.) but should be close. I found a CAD file for the caliper I am using. Very happy and surprised. It is accurate to within .02mm apparently.

I think my measurements were off, but I won't know until I get a test print or I can get a cad file of the hub. Which I may have a source for. Though I won't be able to say if I get it or not lol.

Got the radiator finished up yesterday. I had them switch the inlet/outlet sides to better match the water pump inlet/outlet

Cut could have been a bit cleaner...

Little bit of an easter egg. Owner of the shop wasn't too thrilled they used these as a plug because they protrude into the radiator, but shouldn't make too big a difference and it's pretty neat. Have a good one on my keychain to match.

Well I am an idiot. With the intriguing situation of people retrofitting the new 2017 Digital Gauge Clusters in their cars, I ended up buying one. Against all my inner feeling not to. Should be able to get my money back out of it if I don't use it though. Looking at getting the steering wheel controls as well. If you run the steering wheel and controls, you need the new wheel, and the clock spring. Plan is to run the extra/new wires to the controls and locate them somewhere else. I love my current steering wheel too much.

Now to figure out what is needed in the programming. Wonder if I can buy tech stream to program it myself.

My friend has talked me into driving the engine to Texas Speed. So unless time off gets denied for Wednesday, We plan on driving the 9 hours there and back. Will actually save me money.

Tomorrow morning I am planning on running to the hobby store and picking up some floral foam. Going to try my hand at designing a flare.

I think I am going to try a plywood splitter again. This time it will be fiberglass reinforced to keep it from bending. Except were I want it to bend:

Also want to add the splitter "diffusers"

Not much to update. Weather has been pretty junk. Did a very basic mock up of what I am looking for on the flares for the front. Picked up Floral foam, but I am going to need a solid day to work on just one flare with it.

*Will be leveled out*

edit: Not sure if I have shown what I am going for body wise:

Like those fenders.... I just got in some two part urethane foam,, didn't know if you'd look at it as opposed to the floral foam. I'm hoping I can make a partial mold on the hood to get the foam sort of close to the needed shape then work it from there.
