My next step to combat the heat and the horrible oil pressure these cars have when they get hot. Trying out some new oil too.
Setrab 25-row oil cooler to upgrade my current 14 row. Non thermostatic sandwich plate will be reused as well. The core will be covered until I'm at the track. |

Alright guys, any reason I shouldn't go with an oem coolant base oil cooler setup with my turbo kit? The price difference on the forester kit and the aftermarket ones is much to my liking. With FI my coolant seems steady at 90c/194f which is much lower than the 230 I seem to get lightly driving the car daily for 25-30min. The coolant based oil cooler would also help the turbo warm up in winter which is a plus I guess.
Also taking a bit from the new STi concept. Another way to cut the mustasche... the it would look much worse on the production brz since it isn't beveled as much.

i just installed the seibon DV hood on my car and I'm pleased with how much heat it's letting out. You can literally see the heat radiating out now, and thats barely even pushing the car very hard.
For anyone that doesn't run a vented hood, I would highly recommend it. I was always against vented hoods for cosmetic reasons, but the DV from seibon keeps the factory lines and the two large horizontal slits are large enough to act like a chimney.

I agree on the vented hood. That definitely was going to be the next step on my BRZ. A properly designed one has added venting and downforce benefits.

Getting mine sometime this month lol. Do these carbon hoods have holes to attach the gas struts or does the oem hood prop need to be used? I know they're all probably different so I was wondering about the Vis AMS hood.
Btw @protpibe your car is sick.

They work fine. The seibon actually weighs more than the oem hood

Just installed my AMS hood.. carbon hoods are not my favorite look but it does well at releasing the heat and its the only one that I know of that has rain guards as it does rain a lot here in Miami

Ya ill let you guys know how big of a difference the hood vents make. The fender vents are not for heat. They are for relieving high pressure lift in the wheel wells
