I'd still like to see a car with a supercharger, everyone is going turbo. BMW, Ferrari, the list goes on. It gets old, even if you have no lag.
Though if you have lag it's fine, just learn how to left foot brake and keep the turbo in check... Ahhh...

i feel like turbo lag is being blown out of proportion. with modern ball bearing turbos its almost a non issue when properly sized. plus, if you plan on using all 700 hp or whatever, you probably are at a high enough rpm to not have any lag anyways. that being said, whatever you want to call what rotrex makes is really interesting.

It looks like both GM and Ferrari are guilty of hijacking bits and pieces of the BRZ's design for use in the C7 and F12.

It's just a different level of build quality. The drivetrains in both my GM vehicles have been rock solid. It's always the other stuff that goes bad on GM vehicles: switches, sensors, seals, etc. But my vehicles have never left me stranded. |

Same here.. I Enjoyed the C6 for 5 years, intoxicating thrust, excellent grip..
but I enjoy the frs more! For the reasons you mentioned.. It's more visceral in feel too. No heavy corners! I don't miss those big wheels and tires.. You can play more in the real world with the frs.. Less thrust, more nimble and tossable.. You get to stay on it longer.. Not a bad trade off. Quote:

Nah, Toyota had the FT86's development start around since 2007, the concept debuted in 2009. GM's development of the C7 was in secret the whole time, probably so they could ripoff other people's designs and change it enough that no one would suspect. |

Let's be realistic here - do you really think that Ferrari and Chevy changed their styling of their high-end sports cars dramatically in the past year because of a 25k lightweight, low-end sports car that just came out? Really? Because I have a bridge to sell you if you think that's the case (especially regarding the $330k F12)...

You know the Corvette has had staggered wheel diameters since 1997, right?
Primary reason as I see it: For aerodynamics, the back of the car is much much higher than the front. Same diameter front/rear wheels will cause the rears will looks sorta dinky, as they're small relative to the bulky rear body. So, staggered wheel diameters. My theory, anyway... |
