Your car will be transported to your Dealership where they will detail it, not normal to allow you to go collect yourself .. when they have done the pre-delivery they will contact you [if you aren't camped on their front door step] and say when the car can be collected

That's normal practice

I've spoken to my dealer told him not to prep it or detail it. He was cool with that told his boys not to prep my car, as i'm getting it opti-coated and tinted.

They will have to do a pre-delivery and register it for you .. mine will be tinted as well but AFTER it has arrived at the Dealership. From what you have said my assumption based on experience with buying new Toyotas is once all the paperwork is completed they will then hand over to you for any 'aftermarket' work you have arranged to be done

Interesting to see how you go but I have never heard of a customer being permitted to collect from a 'holding yard' prior to the car going thru the Dealership. They have to remove to protective adhesive coatings - bonnet roof and boot but if you chose to do this and damaged it, then heaven knows! They would also have to inspect the vehicle for any 'in-transit' damage that coud have occurred [believe me this DOES happen!] and rectify that

Got an email from the dealer saying they are expecting the car to arrive any time today/tomorrow.

Sounds like I should be able to collect it next week

Well done!! What did you order and when? I imagine a huge spike in orders on and after 4 June price release and again on and after 18 June

I'm being patient [down to checking the 'tracking' now only 67 times a day!! Also have a sheet at work and home where every Monday I cross off a week based on late November delivery! That was based on original 'October build' now pushed back to November

My salesperson updated me today via email to say its still a go ahead for october/ november. nothing has changed. this is a good sign.

i am so hoping i dont get 1 more push out. on the flipside it does i will at least post here so at least another member can have a shot at it with more patience and a more reliable car than me currently.

my car is on its last legs and i think the 86 delivery and my 626 hanging in to its last breath are staring each other down to see who blinks. meaning i am hoping the car grinds to a halt after the 86 arrives, not the other way around.

Hi Ryan,

You are the 3rd one who has ordered for GTS 86 manual. The other 2 GTS manual have been from our colleagues.
I do understand your position and your excitement but unfortunately I cant get any other update at this stage. But I will keep you posted.

I am in exactly the same boat. Almost to the day. Oh well I'll just keep praying my build date of September 15 is real.
