haha, funny thing you mention the bike...I LOVE bikes..., my mom would never let me get a bike, my gf before she became my wife made a rule against them, I luckly made counter rule that I may have any sportscar I like as long as we can afford it and it doesnt get in the way of kids...haha....I show my wife this video clip after my son and I came back from our visit to leave a deposit at sector111...wife literally looked at me with a pissed/concerned look and said: "you figured out how to get around the motorcycle rule...." I felt bad, like I cheated on a board game anyways I asked for forgiveness..here is the video...sorry for off topic my MONO is hijacking the thread I am afraid lol!!

thanks for the props on the helmet, I really went over the top on it cause of the open cockpit issue...

and I'd also be willing to just hang off the back of a MONO for a ride around lol..the thing is SICK! dream car for me bro...F1 ish. might be bad for the carbon fiber to sit on it tho so you can just check it out if you are in cali sometime that's fine by me lol.

You shouldn't worry about the Mono, it's incredibly stable even in the wet. I've been having a debate of my own to replace the MR-S w/ either the 4C or Mono....

Yeah, Schuberth's are supposed to be the quietest helmets out there. I don't know from first-hand experience because I've only owned Shark helmets, but they are supposed to be super nice. It gets fantastic reviews.

My personal Reasons for the Schuberth SF1:

- massa spring accident
- Schumacher apparently paid a penalty to his sponsor so he could wear an SF1 during races. this is what I am being told.
- It is gorgeous lol.

edit: so the Schuberth rep comes to my house, spent a few hours chatting with him, got fitted, and chose the color (that took the longest). I chose gloss black... the guy is about to leave, my son comes home, says dude, you buying visible carbon instead...haha

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgZf_x_klgg"]98% probability I will order the black schuberth sf1...NOT! - YouTube[/ame]

I will be using this helmet in the FRS as well...

Haha, I'm with your son, go visible carbon. If you're getting that nice of a helmet you have to show it off a little

I didn't realize they had reps. I guess car helmet purchases are a bit different than motorcycle helmet purchases since they are so much less common.

Excellent helmet. Can't put a price on your head.

Good selection as always.

They only make 1 helmet for cars. That's the same one as Schumacher Danica Patrick et al. $6 grand ugh. Arai carbon is in the $4.5k neighborhood I think.

I ordered mine as visible gloss carbon (because it looks like the predator lol) but I paid a couple hundred up charge cause I wanted the painter to pay special attention to the way he fades the black into the carbon fiber on the cheeks of the helmet. They have these reinforced ugly patches u see on the paint ready helmet. Those are for the Hans system reinforcement. I want light fade I don't want too dark so I can see more of the carbon fiber...

Wow, I didn't realize that auto helmets cost that much. Schuberth motorcycle helmets are $900-$1000 for the full-face helmets (only helmets I'll consider). Arai's are $500-$900. Phew, makes the $450 I spent on the Shark seem like chicken-feed. Then again that $450 saved my face during my spill. Best $450 I ever spent. Ever since I've been using the helmet that it had replaced, really need to replace it again...

Now you know why I haven't upgraded. My original was a factory sample and therefore didn't cost me anything.

Very few people actually buy helmets in that range anyway. If a racer truly deserves one then he's likely sponsored by a helmet maker and given product as part of his contract. At this point in my life I don't deserve one and am happy with something in the sub-$1k range as long as it has HANS Device clips.
