I spoke with Shannon who said there were three people on the list two days ago. I'm unsure how many people there are now.

That would be helpful. Hopefully you can confirm the price.

I think I'll shop around some smaller dealers and call around for an MSRP deal (like Renick), because MSRP is starting to sound like a decent deal...

I wouldn't mind going to Irvine for an MSRP deal but I'm not paying a markup.

I guess the only way I'll pay a markup is 1. If the Limited is cheaper than expected. 2. I get the exact car I want within the month I order it.

And by markup I mean a few hundred dollars, max $500.

Ugh...

I will keep those in mind when I make my call tomorrow. Anything else I should ask? I'm completely new at buying (new) cars, so please share.

ugh - i really really don't want to pay MSRP - I understand the supply / demand crap but at the end of the day lets be honest - we're buying what Forbes labels the worst "investment" there is. These things are gonna depreciate no matter what - as much as I need a new car ASAP I'm not 100% convinced I can trick myself into getting one @ MSRP...yet at the same time - I'm not 100% convinced that the hype/demand/etc. will die down in a few months/year(s)! I'm going crazy!

Same here...but there really are no solid "alternatives" unless you want the Gen. Coupe (I guess in my opinion). Been looking at some civic Si's old and new but nothing like the FR-S/BRZ

So I received another email from renick. I was guaranteed msrp with no markups in the future. They currently have four people on their list but they are able to make 18 orders. I think I may just place a deposit at renick. If anyone wants the information let me know.

Should I ask about a group buy when I call later?

I called Rich yesterday and he said that his manager doesn't want to take anymore orders. The 18 people already on the list will get MSRP but they will markup all other BRZs they get. <- If im not mistaken

I called him yesterday too and can hear Desi in the background talking to him. He let my order slide through at MSRP, but he told me they're planning to mark up the cars $5000 above sticker.

LOLOLOL.

I actually went to the fridge first to get something to drink, then I spit it all over my screen.

Now I have a drink I won't finish, and a mess to clean up.
