Bringing my car back into the dealer tomorrow, took about 3 weeks for them to get the parts in! Hoping this is the last of my trips to the dealer for a while

BRZ MT Chirp started 100mi only when engine is HOT, currently 800mi and had change oil but still chirping. No Idle drip and No CEL VIN D*60xxxx. USA version but shipped to Philippines. Local Dealers not yet Lunching the BRZ. I'll try to change fuel and I will give feed back.

Ok so guys dont yell at me but i had no choice. As most of you may know, hurricane sandy did some damage to the tri state area and there was gas rationing in NY. I got my fuel pump replaced and had to hunt for fuel. Only station that had fuel was only selling 89 so i had no choice but to get 89. So far ive driven about 450 miles and theres still no chirp and for some reason my gas mileage has went up. Not sure if its the 89 or new fuel pump but i got 421 miles on 89 and filled up with 12.209(93 of course) which gave me 32.8 mpg and i didnt baby the car. So far so good with the chirp..89 did make the engine tick a little more tho, or maybe its just that the crickets are gone and now it sounds like a regular car lol

Service went through without a hitch. Car seems to be running a lot smoother overall after the 5K (or 7.5K) service.

Highly recommend Piercey Toyota in Fremont, CA. Even put a "do not wash" sign on my car per request!

At the dealer now. They are pulling the batch info from my pump and sending the info to Toyota.

Could be the fuel is a little thicker maybe but I wouldn't run it for long could cause the engine to knock after awhile

Changed gas to Shell VPower... Crickets vanished.. Might just toggle gas formulas every few tanks if it keeps the bugs away..

Took my car in for service on Tuesday and told them the cricket came back after a couple weeks. They made me waited for 4 hurs passed my appoinment time. Someone finally did a road test so they could experience the noise but didnt hear anything. Might be the engine wasnt fully warmed up? They told me to leave the car there and i refused. I asked them to not close the case and let.me drove the car around to see if the noise came back. Drove it for 30 mins around town and the cricket noise was back. Took the car back to let them hear the cricket. The manager told me to leave the car there since it was late. I just gave Toyota a call for update and the manager told me someone is driving it to find out where the noise comes from. I guess i wont have my car for another day or two? They refused to replace the HPFP since they already did that the first time i came in.

i miss my car.

Basically my service manager said they know the fix does nothing, and thats why they aren't putting another one in...gotta wait for Scion to do something else. At least they have a case open now with my car.

I'm getting a a whole new part number when ever it decides to show up but there is a new fuel pump going on them

i had taken my car in a couple months back and they diagnosed it to be the HPFP but there was no solution then. had a service appointment today and got my oil changed and whatnot and asked them about it again and they had the new part in stock! the only one haha so we'll see how this goes with the whole new assembly
