Jack,

Thanks for the input! The runs were actually pretty consistent. In fact, after the runs and looking at the AFRs yesterday, the dyno guy, an experienced tuner himself, told me that the Unichip's tune was really good and that I should stick with it

The Borla UEL headers I ordered should be here in month. Will dyno again after the install and report the results here.

Overall, I'm glad I went with the Unichip!!

With high ambient temperatures and fan cooling the Injen probably performs worse because of its design but the data gives me confidence in the Unichip tuning route.
I think with the hood up and the fan blasting air, the Injen would make more power, as observed in the intake shootout thread:http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19413

I couldn't imagine the Injen being more at a disadvantage with a fan and the hood up, even at higher ambient temps.

I find it interesting that the Unichip and Takeda intake combo gained a consistent 10whp and 7tq while running richer than the stock intake/stock ecu combo. Looks like most of the extra power was from the additional timing?

Where is there a list of the available maps?

I'm curious to know if there is a map that would work with the Nameless downpipe (replaces over pipe) but keeping the stock cat back?

Our maps are grouped into “families” with just the Intake, the Intake + Cat-back exhaust, and an Intake + Headers + Cat-back maps in each.

Each configuration has a low octane, midgrade, and premium grade map.

We additionally offer variations for each map that run slightly more ignition timing, slightly less ignition timing, slightly more fuel, and slightly less fuel… and all combinations of each of the above… you have 27 different combinations to choose from for each bolt-on configuration.

Currently, we have map families built around the stock, AiRaid, all Drop In Filters, GReddy, Injen, Perrin, and Takeda intakes. We are completing the AEM maps this week and have the new TRD intake and the Weapon R intake waiting for their turn. We’re also working with Vigilant on a map for their intake.

For the Nameless downpipe, I’d use the All CatB map.

Cheers

Tracked my car yesterday. First track day with the Unichip. No issues, no CEL. Car ran pretty well! However, during the 100km ride home, I stopped to get some gas. Filled up with my usual 100RON octane fuel. Immediately after, there was some bogging down low when accelerating in 3rd or 4th gear from 2,000rpm. No problems in the higher rpm range. I'm hoping it's just a bad batch of fuel. Any ideas? I'm still running 92 octane fuel standard, timing standard, takeda, allcatB map.

are you able to log any data? If so, send it to me. I think I may know what's causing it. Are you running jsut the standard or are you running timing in, fuel out?

Unfortunately I don't have any data logging tools yet. Basically there will sometimes be a knock or clunk from the engine when accelerating from 2,000rpm and below. What do you think is causing it? I'm running 92 octane standard fuel and timing.

hmm could be a few things. I would try more fuel in and pull timing. See if you have a smoother powerband all the way through.

I haven't had a chance to look through all of the maps sicne when they updated them, for some reason tehy disabled my ability to access the maps.

Thanka for the tip. Just got back from some road testing. 92 fuel in, timing out seems to run great, only heard the knock/clunk once during my test. Car seems to pull smoother from 2,000rpm and below. I also tried 92 fuel standard, timing out, but the car ran worse with it, but still was smoother than 92 fuel and timing standard

Even though you are running 100, don't be afraid to try say an aggressive 89 map like 89 fuel out timing in. Could net you some good results, every car runs differently and if by chance your car is already aggressive then dialing back the octane map may help your cause

Will using this transmit invalid data to an OBD II scan tool? I ask because I use torque.
