Japanese period is tough. There are so many dialects too. What they speak in the Ryuku islands is a blend of so many languages some of the words are slang swears in mainland Japanese.

So, going back to one of my original things when I replied to Ichi about the Airpods Pro, my office is one of those dumb open-floorplan things. On my floor, my side of the building, we have a large 50 person meeting room. For some stupid reason, corporate likes to reserve it for large training events, which is fine. But the problem is that despite signs and general things to notice, like, you know, people either working by themselves focusing on a screen or discussing work matters with teammates, the people who go to these training events decide to go outside on breaks to where our desks are and start talking extremely loudly, chattering away with no regard for who's around or that they're trying to focus on work.

I don't love having to shut people out, but at work for sure like ol' Hum was talking about last night, I need to be focusing at work.

Sometimes I put headphones on just to isolate myself from these people being noisy and distracting, otherwise I can't be productive!

And yes, I've complained to management before, nothing changes. So, I do things on my own side that I can to improve my own work process.

Also, sometimes when I'm very stressed it can be nice to have headphones in because sometimes I need a way to think without outside distractions. Sometimes without music even on.

And as far as sharing, heh. I wish more people I know enjoyed the same music as me. But sadly nowadays most people like electronic music much more than anything I like. I like some electronic music too, but I also love other genres that people wouldn't want to listen to.

Sorry we were on two different wavelength here. I was referencing while walking and commuting not when you actually get to work.


Ask Ultra about how picky I am for music styles. He was in charge of maintaining radio stations while traveling through the mountains. If he let a country station last more than two notes I would yell at him.

Yes, because there is nothing as invigorating as listening to a monotone voice drone on about the seasonal mating habits of the blue bellied sap sucker or some overly excited woman describing how to make cuttlefish jam just like he granny did.
