Possible FR-S buyer
Hello all! I work with a firm that provide vehicles and there is a chance I may get an FR-S at nice discount for letting them use it for a couple of months. Still researching, but had a chance to sit in one and was surprised it was very comfortable - I am 6'1" and 280 lbs. My current car is a 2007 Civic Si sedan (fulll bolt-ons, Vit base tune). Love the car, but its showing it's age. Put it this way, if this deal does not happen, I would be totally fine driving the Si for a while longer, but am VERY excited about the prospect of owning an FR-S.
This forum has been very helpful in my research, and answered a lot of questions about the car from actual users. I look forward to becoming a contributing member as this deal closes. Thank you all in advance! |

My face hurts..........42 year old enjoys driving again
Happy to be here and wanted to say thank you all for the wonderful information you provide. I recently purchased a 2013 FSR, 7500 miles, TRD cat-back, new Michelin Pilot SS tires, tinted windows and a couple of other small upgrades already completed by the previous owner. I love driving this car, it takes me back to my early days when I was driving a Conquest (most have probably never heard of it), Eagle Talon, Celica GT, and a bit later, BMW 330Ci. Then I had children, and those days were gone; replaced by SUVs (Blazer (garbage), 4Runner, and Xterra). Still have the Xterra and will probably never get rid of it because I love her too. It's an entirely different kind of love though. I wouldn't jump into the X just because I had nothing better to do, while I'm planning on hitting the mountain roads in Northern GA once I finish this post. The joy of driving has returned and thanks to this forum and the organizations associated with it, hopefully that level of joy will increase as my mods arrive this weekend (Perrin intake, OFT, and OFH). I had budgeted $25k for a car, and since I only paid $20K, well, that other $5K can't just sit there for the wife to spend on her nails. I would have loved to use the money of a SC but........ since I have a warranty, and it's a used car, I think I'll wait a bit and make sure nothing crops up.

Welcome! With the OFT + OFH, 5K could get you a nice FI setup. I'd say go for it if the car doesn't give you any hassle.

Smoked chicken and a drive
Took a 3 hour drive through the mountains while my chicken was in the smoker. My other option was drinking beer for 3 hours, another great idea, but not nearly as much fun. Hadn't had a chance to really challenge this car, so I was a bit disappointed when it started raining. However, the car took everything in stride, albeit a touch slower. If you live in GA, or somewhere close, "Wolf Pen Gap Road" is a nice little drive with some scenic stops.

Hi
Hello everyone...I recently purchased a FR-S and I must say that I have been thrilled ever since I test drove it. I'm looking forward to some mods in the next couple of months and seeing what this car can really do with upgraded tuning.

Hello everyone,
New 2015 FR-S owner here. This is one car, I was excited to finally get. I first was introduced to these cars after seeing a Subaru BRZ for the first time back in 2012. Never saw any car like it on the road for a long time. "That's a Subaru??" I thought. I eventually learned more about the joint venture between Toyota and Subaru to bring back a small, lightweight RWD sports car with the heritage of the Toyota AE86. I'm 47 years old. I grunt a little bit, getting down low into the seat. But I don't care. I rather have this car than a big sedan or truck. I know there are FR-S/GT86 owners even older than me here. That says something a lot about a car like the FR-S/GT86/BRZ which is supposed to be marketed towards the Gen Y crowd, who ironically are driving the bigger cars and trucks us older drivers should be driving.

Hey all! Not an owner just yet, but hopefully next year around this time I'll be a proud owner of a new frs or brz. Still yet to decide. I've been reading up on these forums wherever I can so when the car is finally mine I know as much about it as possible. Still unexperienced and new when it comes to cars, but eager to learn. If anyone's got any advice on what to read to become more educated I'm definitely listening. Until then, I'll have to settle with trying to do little things here and there on my celica. Can't wait to be part of the group!

G'evening, ladies and gentlemen. Like the above poster, I don't have an FRS/BRZ yet but I think I might be buying an FRS soon to replace my bike (it was mostly my folks being extremely worried about me getting into some freak accident.) I usually go by many names - this username being one of them (other times, Ryo or Satoshi).
I've driven both a manual and automatic '13 FRS in Seattle a few hours back (might look at an auto) and was actually hooked - it's as fun and nice in handling like my bike. I hope to talk to you all. |

My newish late 2013 BRZ wrb with golds
I picked up a slightly used 2013 WRB BRZ with Gold 18" oz alleggerita.
The car has 17,000 kms. There are numerous mods that prior owner already installed. Such as: -18" OZ alleggerita Gold wrapped in Pirelli Pzero Nero Rubber -ARK DTS RACING SPEC Downtude back complete Exhaust -STI Start Button -JDM Clear Side Markers -STI Shifter mount -Tap turn Signal module -Alcantara Shift boot Red stiching -Alcantara Red Stitching upper dash Piece from Coachworks -Complete 3M wrap front -Complete LED interior lights -Lower Triangle Brake light -I added moddiction one pound anvil shift knob from my S2000 My old WRB Gold New WRB with Gold This car is wow in fun and I've had some fast fun rides. I have a 2008 Lexus IS350 loaded to the t!ts and pulls 13.0 @ 104mph sec 1/4 mile I consider the BRZ hands down the funnnnner ride. The only prior ride that I've owned that I would consider on par for the fun factor was my past 2001 Honda S2000 with a bunch of basic mods. So glad I picked up this ride instead of a new overpriced STI. I think my future ride will be a next Gen BRZ. |

Yep, we have some of those old coots hanging out here ..... Grunting a bit getting in and out of a FR-S is OK. However, is does get quite embarrising when you "fall" out of it ..... humfrz |
