It's called detonation

Edit I recant my "no detonation" claim from before, knocking is apparent in some individuals tunes - but the same can be said for MANY tuners. Just very tired that this thread has become a piss on John thread when I come in here and hope to learn more about ECU tech or upgrades for my car. Very few other tuners have threads like this that constantly update us. Sure I could contact them and ask, but I enjoyed what this thread once was. If people want to post [valid] complaints against John, please do it in the vendor feedback area. This thread is for information for his customers and those who are interested in ECU Tech

Visctoni tunes have had injector seal fixes for quite a while...so I assume his/her injector seals are happy

Did you look at the logs used to generate these graphs? Any chance you can post them?

ORLY??? How much are you willing to bet/loose? The graphs below do not seem slanderous at all at -5 knock. NOT saying everyone knocks or anything similar. But to say that there is NO detonation under his tunes, is a pretty big and inaccurate statement. There are cars out there that have experienced bad knock.

Valid ORLY and I recant

Just not fair to shout out that its detonation all of the time, other tuners have knock too (less likely when dyno tuned vs a etune situation)

Graphs are a bit hard to read but I might be able to show you even worse knock from vtune. I flashed back to the previous safer version after sending him logs. He replies back and tries to feed me some bullshit. Switched tuners that day.

Jeez. That -5 knock correction is scary. Worst I've had on one of John's tunes was a -3 on pumpgas (with audible knocking). Flashed back to stock and was worse, turned out to be bad fuel. Honestly this engine is just going to knock to some extent on pumpgas regardless. I'm sure everyone's tunes show some knock correction after a reflash including on the stock tune (mine does for sure). It loves the ethanol. I've been rocking his E70 (1.14b4) tune and love it. Well, aside from the mpg. Occasional -1 knock correction but really solid.
