But brah, this PoS won't last over 30K miles!!! SELL EEEEETTTTTTT!!!

I keep hearing the tune this, the bearings that, yada yada yada. At the end of the day if the parts were engineered well and the tuner did his job these cars reliably make good power in comparison to stock form when force inducted. There are several kits on the market that do the job well, some come with a tune / base map some do not. Pick your poison. For those not located by someone they can trust for tuning then I would recommend a kit that comes with a reliable base tune on it (there are more options then the avo kit for that), for those lucky enough to live by a tuner they trust, talk to your tuner. Hell even if you have to spend some time driving a custom tune in my opinion is worth it, but guess what good tuners are all over the country / world. As well with all the options for tuning that are available now if someone started with a base map and slowly worked it up via logging and asking questions and researching how things should be then they can end up with a decent tune. At the end of the day these motors are taking it quite well, and in my opinion quite reliable when boosted.

Also to help try and get this post back on topic, I am glad to see Brandon's car at a shop that knows what they are doing, have a good track record for what they do, and have a quality tuner in house. I can not wait to see how things progress for his car now as it is in good hands.

Based on what evidence? Maybe I missed something. That's actually a serious question. I'm completely uninterested in on/off boost, especially on a car like this. I should think that by the time one added speed control, ecutek tuning or whatever to control it, enough juice to make some more interesting numbers up top and intercooling because you are going to need it, other options are going to continue to make more sense at a similar level of cost/complexity/aggravation.

More thread drift/sorry. really more interested in what comes out of the box at Prime.

At Prime right now, Brandon said I could snap some pics but I'll leave that for Prime to do and post.

Similar technology is being used in F1 and I believe both Ford and Audi are introducing systems in conjunction with traditional turbocharging.

Eventually an oem will implement the general idea and push the esc concept to a different level. It's really only a matter of time when you look at the required push for better mpg and the horsepower arms race, every manufacturer at this point has enough experience in the battery and charging aspect of hybrids and fi to make this sort of thing happen.

Just look how turbos have went from being a sports car item to something on a Chevy sonic.

My guess is something in the fuel pump install was not done correctly and it was leaning out under boost.
Not 100% but I think it had the wrong wastegate spring in it.

Been in the Supra scene for ten years, dunno what you're talking about wastegates having issues...

Regardless, I'm still curious to see more pictures! I have a feeling we won't see much as I'm sure this is all building to a criminal case at this point...

I believe that was someone else who had the wrong wastegate spring. @King Tut has a list of popped motors and can probably confirm.

Holy same old scam batman! Tr3 came up with a 3 thousand dollar turbo kit for the focus st and bragged about their "in house tuner" then took money from lots of people and you'll never believe this......they never delivered!

Then in a totally unforeseen twist.....there was one guy who was local to the shop who couldn't shut up about his car fast lol....goes by beard....post #223. If I could somehow prove its Lexus can we ban him? From life?

Is this the same thread from a few pages back where someone from this board warned them, and then got into some kind of dildo waving competition with a forum local?
