Am I wrong for seeing this mod as merely a novelty and not a legit mod.... I feel like this is the turbo version of the autozone hood scoops and fender velours...

Not intended to offend anyone.

This just seems wrong...

I don't think you are trying to troll, so I'm guessing this just wasn't worded correctly.

Instead I'll answer the question: if pages of dynos, customer reviews, third party testing and general acceptance doesn't convince you.... I'm not sure what will.

I said that the numbers are comparable if not better then the stage one kit that avo offers., there's really no need to come in here with your chest pumped and all gang buster out bro, I'm merely comparing a stock avo Stage one tune vs an esc stock tune. Nah, it's real. Anyone sitting in the car can tell a huge different between when it's turned on vs off. I'm really enjoying mine.

The short answer is, yes you are wrong.

When hood scoops add 30-50 HP to the rpm band(rpm dependent) and 65-70tq in the dip call me up and I'll take out my wallet.

You still haven't done that.
In any case, I get why your enthusiastic however that thread was about tuning and driving, not sure how plugging esc would help him but anyways. Then the cosworth thread, which lead to this:

It was indeed over the top, and the guys that thanked your posts at the time were merely butt hurt because I called out their bs prior.
Husker for ridiculing others as ricers when his car is littered with LEDs, and FAER/fear for pretending not to troll many threads since he was banned. He also just added his bit in this thread a few posts earlier, take it however you will.
I was trolling the ESC? how is that possible when I was probably one of the first interested and stayed around even after the much later release date for RHD versions? Pretty sure @DAEMANO isn't referring to me as he's seen me in this thread many many times.

I never was skeptical after seeing fenton's first couple of posts, it was definitely feasible from my background in electrical engineering.
Apologies since I don't think answering people's range of problems with ESC is the solution. If people asked about getting more power, sure. Not when other product releases or people are having issues with tunes/driving skills to beat a family hybrid.

Anyway, thanks for pointing it out. The comments direct at @robwbright had nothing to do with ESC development, it was just at the individual alone for being a kid and showing off his love for turtles.

No, I haven't. But others have. My lack of skill and/or tires doesn't change the fact that it can be done.

You called me out for being off topic while abstaining from calling out people for posting ENTIRELY off topic and completely irrelevant and useless.

When you decide to call out other people for being WAYYY more off topic and far less useful than I was, then perhaps your complaint about, again, TWO posts (one of which was a single sentence), would be considered more even handed.

Otherwise, why don't you just make whatever comments that are - in your obviously humble opinion - relevant to whatever thread you happen to be reading and leave other people alone..?

Yes, and I told you the exact reason why as well.

In any case, what @DAEMANO said was not applicable to me but you dragged me in, completely out of context but that isn't new is it?

Apologies to everyone else for adding my bit which I felt deserves clarification, since it was unwarranted as I definitely was not trolling the esc. I believe I've done that so that would be it from me, no point dragging it on for some kid.

Incidentally, I did comment in one other thread where the OP stated that he did not want to go FI and was interested in other bolts ons. On the suspicion that he was not aware that the Phantom ESC existed, I asked him if he would be interested in a part time FI application that was inexpensive.

OMGosh, I posted off topic. So sorry to offend you if you happened to see that thread. And since I could not possibly care less if you are offended, here's the thread:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=66807&page=2

Ironically, the OP and others were not, in fact, aware of the Phantom and three of them posted about being interested in an inexpensive, part time FI option.

Oddly, I received thanks over there for passing along the info. It turns out that not everyone on the board is aware of everything that is available. And if you were the moderator of the board, it would undoubtedly stay that way because you'd probably try to have me banned for posting OT.

And with that, I am done with you.

Nothing wrong with that nor was it applicable to the comment you were butt hurt about.

well your dyno graphs show it is basicly the same as stock for the top 1500-2k rpm ... and when i shift at red line .... well i don't drop down to that "50 whp" part of the band when the torque is ridiculous... maybe i just never seriously considered it enough but what little i do see it doesn't seem viable for anything more than a "weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!" button. You know the occasional, "Hey look i can go fast... for a minute."

like a second gear pull, 5500rpm to say 110mph .... is the esc going to pull on a car with the SAME money invested in ANY other power adders?

not trolling or flaming, simply seeking to understand your perspective...

A Phantom ESC equipped '86 wouldn't need to pull on a car with the same money invested in ANY other power adders because it would already be ahead. Dollar for dollar, there are no bolt-ons that come close. Videos are on the first page of this thread if you're looking for proof.
