Definitely not fixed on production line. I took delivery on Feb 20. I've owned my car for only 3 days and I see this...worth getting replaced? Seems like the replacements are still leaking.

there should be NO condensation. How many new cars do you see with foggy lights?

Ive only had fog in ebay replacements on other vehicles

My dealer is just replacing - the gaskets

Since I currently have no condensation inside my lights (it evaporated since the last rain), the service manager at my dealer believes that it will be sufficient to just replace the gaskets. Using a jet of water, they were able to confirm that the current gaskets are admitting small amounts of water.

From what I've read here, that's unlikely to fix the problem, but it's possible that Scion has a new strategy that legitimately sidesteps the replacement of the full assembly.

The challenge is that I live in Southern California, and who knows when we'll get enough rain to see condensation again? Oh, the disadvantages of living in a meteorological paradise!

I'll post again when I see how well this works...

UPDATE: 2/28
After having the car overnight, the dealer saw condensation in one lens, and accepted my iPhone photo taken a few weeks before as evidence for the other.

Even though my car was past the VIN number where sheet metal issues where the lens meets the bodywork were supposedly resolved at the Suburu plant, the dealer found that they did need to adjust the sheet metal and repaint portions of the area that's hidden behind the lenses.

So, both lenses are replaced and metal work completed. SouthCoast Toyota (Costa Mesa, California) provided amazing service again, and had me in a loaner while they solved the problem.

Now we just have to see if the problem reappears.

They refuse to change mine because I had one replaced by a ,mechanic when I got rear ended and they won't replace either because the bumper was replaced also. So my warranty on the tail lights is voided because of this?

Try a different dealership or call up scion and ask them why you got denied and if the reasons given are just or not.

Not surprising...the gaskets they installed on early 2013's are crap. It doesn't matter how people tighten the damn bolts...the original gaskets are junk, I believe that there is a new part number for them...best of luck

Don't worry there is definetly a Toyota Service Bulletin on this issue. I currently work at a Toyota dealership and if you are having that problem ...there are definitely some replacement lights that can be ordered to fix the problem.

If anyone has a small amount of condensation in the lens I would recommend getting it replaced. After over 17k miles I'm amazed mine is doing this... I took the first picture 1 week ago and the second today and seeing how bad it is now is embarrassing. I brought it to the dealer yesterday and they are calling me tomorrow to let me know how soon they can replace it.
